Small group of Democrats floats censure instead of impeachment

A small group of vulnerable House Democrats is floating the longshot idea of censuring President Donald Trump instead of impeaching him, according to multiple lawmakers familiar with the conversations.

Those Democrats, all representing districts that Trump won in 2016, huddled on Monday afternoon in an 11th-hour bid to weigh additional — though unlikely — options to punish the president for his role in the Ukraine scandal as the House speeds toward an impeachment vote next week.

When asked about the Senate vote if the impeachment proceeds, Pelosi said,

"On an issue like this, we don't count the votes. People will just make their voices known on it,"

In other words, she's counting on the negative publicity against Trump that exposing some of his acts while POTUS could generate. However, the whole process will blow up in the Dems' faces when it's all over, just as the failed impeachment of Clinton blew up in the GOP's faces in 1996-7. The Dems could lose a significant number of House seats next year, as the GOP will trumpet the huge Dem expenditure of taxpayer $$s on hearings, inquiries, & the impeachment itself, all for nothing.

At any rate, I AM hoping that after the Nov election the D party will be nothing but a shadow of it's current existence!!!

Of course, the reason would be that they are in a red district - and will be up, of course for election next year.

I don't see that Trump did anything illegal. It was Pelosi and Biden who sent their deadhead kids to loot the Ukraine while the Clintons took 145 million from the Russians. Correct me if I am wrong.
