Maybe I should say I can engage in reasoned debate without all of the barking. [IMG]

Here are six topics I would suggest for this formal debate -

    1) Man's ability or inability?

    2) Election - particular or general?

    3) Atonement - general or definite?

    4) Regeneration - monergistic or synergistic?

    5) Peserverance - maybe or certain?

    6) Calvinism's Effect on Evangelism - energizing or deadening?

No perjorative language allowed and no attacks on any individual, living or dead.

This looks good. Probably should limit it to one at a time of course or the debate could go every direction. Start with #1 and see how it goes from there.

So, who is debating, judging, and moderating?

Who can be a truly objective judge of these issues and how would this person or these people determine what qualified as a win or loss?

Could we randomly pick 10 people from other boards who are not so fimilar with these issues to read the arguements and decide which ones are most convincing? How would we find these people?

Maybe the moderators could set up a questionaire or a message on one of the other boards to recruit some relatively unbiased judges. What do you all think?

    Bro. Bill,

Since we are not here engaged in any debate and this thread is not discussing any particular theological topic I have question for you.

Are you from Texas or did you migrate there?

Texas loves Brother Bill and Brother Bill loves Texas. [IMG] Why? Did Texas tell Dallas something different? ;)

There may be a few Calvinists who want me to leave but Texas is big enough for all of us.

No, Texas said nothing to Dallas, just wondering from my own self.

I happen to like the State of Texas. I don't really think any Calvinist brethren around there are bothered by your continued presence.

While we are talking about TEXAS, I was born in Sinton, Texas, 30 miles north of Corpus Christi. When I was a junior in high school we moved to Bay City, 80 miles south of Houston.

Texas... Is Primitive Baptist Country... I was not born in Texas but am of Texas blood... Dad came from Idalou or was it Muleshoe and married my Mother and settled in San Diego. He did his Marine boot training here in WWII and never left.

All his brothers and sisters were from Texas... All his three brothers were Primitive Baptist... From Harlingen and Amarillo... Glad to hear we all have something in common... I agree with the debate topics and might think of a few others later... Brother Glen The Primitive Baptist [IMG]
