So, what are you listening to? (Not Necessarily Christian Music Edition)

In the other So, what are you listening to? thread, it seems most folks focus primarily on Christian music, which is quite appropriate in the forum. I do not intend for this to be an inappropriate thread, and if any member goes too far off topic, or crosses the line of decency, I kindly ask the moderator(s) to close this thread. I personally consider crossing the line to include posting names of bands or songs that are indecent, or linking to youtube videos that contain explicit content not suitable for the family-friendly nature of this board.

Until that time, though, I'm curious what my fellow BB members listen to when not tuning in to the local Christian stations.

I'm a big fan of piano music and I love the works of Ludovico Einaudi and Helen Jane Long. Long worked with Howard Shore on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Einaudi has been in the composing game for quite a while. His work is often heard as background music on BBC's Top Gear.

Here's a sample of Einaudi's work:

Giorni Dispari = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56hDr0cha-s
Al Di La del Vetro = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LxceNTx3S0

Here's a sample of Helen Jane Long's work:

I listened to the first one - excellent! But I am a pianist - so I am partial.

Speaking of great piano performances, here is Maksim Mrvica playing "Flight of the Bumblebee" (Rachmaninoff version).

It's WILDLY bad - and by bad, I mean epically awesome!!

I listen to it quite frequently to temper any pride I might cultivate in myself as a pianist. HA!!!!!!!!!!

Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah [LINK]

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
