Was able to watch this before Wifey got up. MU was sloppy, but the ball in the goal is what counts. WBA probably should have won this.

Rooney started his year off right.

Neville should have been red carded for that first period tackle in front of goal.

I really felt sorry for Odemwingie and his missed place kick. Not even close and in his own house to boot.

Wolves v. Chelsea on the 5th. Maybe there's hope for your boys!

It was hard to believe that goal given up by Chelsea today to Ashton Villa in stoppage time. It was like they just stopped defending.

Doesn't sound like a very good idea for a Premier League team to take Beckham for about a dozen games before he heads back to the Galaxy.

However, I am not familiar with all of this loaning business in soccer.

    Besides he's 36(?) and injury-prone.
I wonder if the English national team is playing into his motives any.

I recorded the match but have been too busy to watch it so I just skimmed through it today. I was surprised that Wolves' early goal stood up. Now if Wolves can just learn how to play well against other than the top sides.

Union soccer team wins sponsorship from Bimbo bakery

An interesting jersey for their players - and fans - to wear. :)

Union soccer team wins sponsorship from Bimbo bakery

January 11, 2011|By Jeff Gammage, Inquirer Staff Writer

The Philadelphia Union is getting hitched to Bimbo.

No, the team has not signed a promiscuous, dull-witted semi-celebrity to play midfield.

The soccer club is poised to announce a major sponsorship deal that will stamp the routinely mispronounced name of the giant Mexico-based baker onto the front of the team jersey.

Thanks for that. I'm afraid I've not been keeping track of things lately. Just one of those kind of weeks.

Sounds like a good deal for both parties.

A tough loss for Wolves today. They played great the first 40 minutes for 1-0 lead, then fell apart for the next 26 minutes to fall behind 1-4, then played great the rest of the way but fell just short of a result vs. Man City, 3-4, to fall back into the relegation zone.

I enjoy watching Arsenal but I have passion for Wolves. I hadn't rooted for a team that hard since the MLS Cup.

Speaking of Arsenal, a dominating performance today vs. West Ham, 3-0. Looks like Grant may soon be out as manager for West Ham.

Four firms vying for FC Dallas jersey deal

    www.bizjournals.com/dallas/blog/2011/01/four-firms-vying-for-fc-dallas-jersey.html

This is good to see. I wish the article had named the four companies. I wonder if this will result in totally new home and away kits for FC Dallas and if they will keep the horizontal stripes.

Also, love seeing there has been a 300% increase in season ticket sales. I hope they fill up Pizza Hut Park for every home game this season.

Terrible loss for Wolves today vs. Liverpool.

Nice win for the Gunners over Wigan.
