Socialism is the crutch of cowards, weaklings and whiners.

It's un-American.

My dad's been working hard for years and years, an retired with lungs full of asbestos, which was forbidden for years in the 80s, but still used for economical reasons. He's been working all his life, i never really knew him as i was was younger because he always came back at 8 pm, and we never spent time together ...

I'm wondering in which category you're putting him ? Coward, weakling or whiner ?

" Un-American " ... I'm not trying to offend anyone, any brother or sister, but i sometimes, as i read such replies, have a feeling that " Because i'm american, i'm right ".

Er...you did - when you said that families and churches could never do enough. And your Constitution can be and has been amended - right?

I never said any such thing. It can be amended and that would at least be honest but libbies do not like that process so they lie about the constitution and work to subvert it my getting activist judges on the bench.

yes, charitable giving is more effective...when it's done
Yes. That's exactly what I meant when I said the church isn't doing the job it should be. I'm not saying we shouln't lay fault on the government, but laying fault at the government without laying fault on the ourselves is speck/plank judging.

Your feeling is not relevant to truth.

Government is not the answer to any of that. Family is, the church is or any number of other solutions.

The church and the family simply do not have the resources to do something like take over Social security or Medicare to aid senior citizens in their retirement. I would much prefer that myself but I don't think it can be done.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with family help if they have the resources, but those are stretched very thin these days. Social safety nets are where I part ways with the Libertarians. Family help is more of an augmentation rather than a primary source of aid. And not everyone has a family.

I'm sure it is not, and i know what i'm talking about, i'm french, you know, the country of the Lumières, Human Rights, of the Revolution against Monarchy, the country of all this past, of so many things that gives us the right to give lessons to so many countries, as if WE had the knowledge because of some mysterious ways we took in the past, as if other nations owed us some kind of rank.

The past is the past, what is important is what we're doing now. I don't live on my ancestors merits or faults, or if we have to take something, it's to keep in mind the good things, and take lessons from the bad things for a better future alltogether. Of course, there'll always be old jokes for some ancestral purposes or rivalities laying on nonsense (there were always tensions with the british ... the english :) but you can't imagine how close i feel from them in many things, like i am from the person living in front of my own house. They have all my sympathy and friendship, we all have the right to disagree, does it mean we cannot be friends ?).

So i know what i feel is not the truth. Revd Mitchell, you reacted to my reply, but what did you think about Carpro's one ?

There is not a dimes worth of difference between socialist and communist. And either way it is evil, promotes laziness, and steals from those who do produce to give to those who do not.

This is hilarious coming from a man who lives off other's work!

I lean toward socialism yet I work as a machinist and actually produce a product. I always work more than 40 hours a week, usually six day.

It always amuses me to see those who spend their time sitting behind a desk; who, the heaviest thing they pick up is a book, talking about other's laziness.

Thanks for the laugh, Mitch!

yep, that's right. us rich pastors only work on Sundays for 30 minutes at a time...

:tonofbricks:

We never have to really work except to pick up a Bible:rolleyes:

Americans are the strongest supporters of the most communist organization in the world. It is called the Union. Unions control labour groups with a strong and often criminal arm. They want to control a company to which they have no investment of capital funds.

Frankly, I doubt if the average American even understands what democratic freedom means.

Cheers,

Jim

You have not a clue what a pastor does.

What a disgusting insult. You should be ashamed. Pastors are on call 24/7 and spend far more time with others than they do their own family. They are hard workers and have to deal with problems on a daily basis that you nor I would be able to handle.

God bless our pastors!

Some spend all day, every day scouring inane blogs and posting to the BB.

I know some very good pastors, a few. But I also know that the ministry attracts some of the laziest people on earth. I have been privileged to know some of these dead beats personally, so I don't need anyone to tell me about how hard working preachers are.

And I find this post disgusting, hateful, unChristlike, and downright ignorant. Those of us working our tail ends off in ministry certainly don't need enemies when we have this type of prideful attitude sitting right in our congregations! You owe Mitch and all the rest of us in ministry an apology.

More and more when I read such stupidity on the BB, I wonder why my dh and I even BOTHER sacrificing our time, money, energy, marriage, and yes, even our health for this type of abuse. Perhaps if you spent more time praying for pastors instead of bashing them, the BB could actually be an enjoyable place! Now I remember why I stopped visiting and posting here for a while. This kind of "discussion" is not God honoring, and only serves to discourage people who are trying hard to serve the Lord.:tonofbricks:

Not going to happen. I will not apologize for telling the truth.

Do you think you are the only ones who sacrifice?

Before you complain about the hardships of the pastorate, no one forced you into it. You did it of you own accord.

I only mentioned the pastors I have come in contact with. I didn't include you in these men. I didn't accuse you of anything. If you are hard-working and diligent then you are excluded from my descriptions. Maybe this posting upsets you because it hits a little too close to home.

Don't try and talk yourself out of this one Snow. You said, "It always amuses me to see those who spend their time sitting behind a desk; who, the heaviest thing they pick up is a book, talking about other's laziness." and you specifically called out RevMitchell when you said, "This is hilarious coming from a man who lives off other's work!".

I work behind a desk every day as a computer programmer. I don't even put forth the effort to lift a book. I guess I'm more lazy than a pastor then, huh?

You should grow up and put away your foolish talk.

I guess Bob Snow, or B.S. for short, is showing us some of that "love & compassion" that we conservatives so lack......

Someone call me when the trolls have been banned, and this once again becomes a Christ-centered ministry. I'll waste no more time here.
