    It's depressing to hear all of you saying you like choke.....er...I mean Coke. I actually work for Pepsi so I am biased, but I don't drink anything but pepsi products....even though I still would even if I wasn't employed with the company!

    Coke has the leading share of the market so I guess not too many people think like the Papsi folks. I am glad Coke has a competitor to keep the price lower for those of us who like it. So Pepsi has something good about istelf.

    gb93433, what you say is true. The reason Coke has the leading market share is because it is measured by 8oz servings. That includes all the fountain servings from fast food chains like McDonalds. That is a killer for us at Pepsi because we are not allowed on the fountains at those stores. But if you judged on what people by from the store, Pepsi actually leads in take home buying. To be honest, I live in central Iowa. I work at the plant that has one of the highest, if not the highest, area marketshares for Pepsi in the nation. We have 78% of the share and the rest is shared by Coke and Dr. Pepper. But I guess all of us hicks here in Iowa buy a lotta Mountain Dew.
    Well considering most of this post was meaningless I will provide my vote.

    POP!

    C4K, folks here in eastern Pennsylvania are the only ones who have it right. It's all soda, and Coke and Pepsi are just brands of cola, which is just a kind of soda. Although some people will say "Coke" when all they mean is a cola, even if they don't care what brand.

    Personnally, to quote the late Ray Charles, Diet Pepsi is the "right one, baby! Uh-huh!"

    It's pop. My flavor is Mountain Dew - cheap imitations need not apply. No diet. If I want to drink something with no calories, I will drink water.

    I do not care for the fast food places that do not serve Pepsi products. If I do have to eat at Wendy's (family's favorite), I order the Barq's Root Beer. I'll keep eating at KFC and Subway since that is where I can get a Mountain Dew with my meal.

    I usually say Coke (although I drink Dr.Pepper), but have also said "Cold drink" too.
    I ask my hubby to run out to the store and pick us up a couple of cold drinks and a candy bar. He usually replys that if its ok he'll take the truck instead of running. [IMG]

    I did however go to Ohio in 89' and while in a grocery store I asked a worker where the coke was... I got the strangest stare. Mother in law exslained to the woman that I was from Texas. I was excused ...and no harm no foul. ROTFLOL Really made me feel there was something wrong with being from Texas? (Oh shes from Texas she don't know any better.) [IMG]

    FYI;
    Most Pizza Huts offer exclusively Pepsi products, (yelch!)

    Give me the "Real Thing" every time. Ray Charles was singing that one long before Pepsi bought him.

    I use both interchagably.
    In the Marine Corps ('76) it was "soda". Growing up in Idaaho it was "pop".

    These days I still use "soda". Or "soda pop".

    I didn't vote...
    In HIS service;
    Jim

    (WOW! 4 pages about pop!) (WOW! 4 pages about soda!) LOL

    I'm a Pepsi person too although I LOVE my Dr. Pepper. I generally say soda when I order at a resturant where you fill your own drink cup. I don't know why I started saying that. No one else around me does.
