Something Is Wrong in the Military

Pentagon relaxes rules on religious apparel, facial hair
The Pentagon on Wednesday relaxed its rules governing the religious apparel and facial hair that troops can wear or maintain while in uniform, permitting in some cases tattoos, body piercings and other religious items.

The Defense Department issued the changes via a directive Wednesday afternoon. As part of the military's changing approach to making religious accommodations, the new policy will allow service members to sport different kinds of religious garb and hairstyles so long as they don't have an "adverse effect on military readiness, mission accomplishment, unit cohesion, and good order and discipline."

“Religious toleration.” They are tightening up on regular tattoos (particularly notable in the USMC, but the Army is also looking at changes which will restrict tatts even more than in recent years) and have pretty much banned gauges (thank goodness). As a microcosm of society, I suppose adapting this "political correctness" is expected - toleration…except maybe those intolerant Christians who think Christ is the Way.:tear: But yes. Something is wrong with the military. Probably the same as is wrong with the nation.

They are allowing a Sikh to keep his turban. Sikhs are fantastic soldiers but I think that they should follow American military standards inside the American military. Sikhs adopted a strong military tradition after learning the hard way that Hinduism will attack you if you do not conform to Hinduism.

Might be different if these people were drafted but they volunteered!

Yes the military is not your Father's Military anymore. It is real sad.

It's not even the American military anymore. It's the globalist's military now.

They are using "liberalism" to destroy the whole country so why wouldn't the globalists use it to destroy the military? They want this country on it's knees begging them to take control so they can "save us".

Liberalism is a tool the elite use to gain control. It's no different than communism or socialism.

I wish liberals would wake up to how duped they really are.

And if you just wanted to throw another rock at Barack Obama, you should have just done so from the start instead of trying to dress that anger in concern over the military.

Yall are funny if you think Barack Obama is pulling the strings in any of this stuff.

The enemy is having a field day but yall busy trying to combat Obama.

Just curious. As every taxpayer's money got to the Defense Dept. as well as other agencies, which group of taxpayer's would you not allow to show their religion in any way?

There are a whole bunch of folk on the BB who claim to be patriots, but are not unless they get they way on everything. That is not patriotism in the American form.

Patriotism is different things to different people.

Some people think defending an illegitimate president and congress is patriotic.

Some people think defending the military that serves foreign interests such as Saudi Arabia, Israel and the global elite at the expense of American taxpayers is patriotic.

Some even think joining the military to fight the "terrorists" in far off lands that foreign interests like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel and our own illegitimate president and congress supplies with funding and weapons is patriotic.

To me patriotism is defending the constitution and our founding principles against the tyrants that pretend to be patriots and leaders.

By whose interpretation of the Constitution?

The constitution doesn't need to be interpreted. It's written in plain English under the common law.

We run into all the problems with "interpretations" when we let the black robed class that is trained in admiralty/corporate/statutory law that was instituted in 1871 after the United States ceased to be a constitutional republic and became a corporation tell us what the constitution means.

See this http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=91438 for more detail.
