For the theological experts of the BB to disect:

Valentine (“Pretty Picture”)

Valentine,
God has planned that you could now be mine,
And I’m thrilled that He would make you mine
For this short time we have.

You to me,
And I give me to you, and now it’s “WE,”
And I hope that we will grow to see
It’s God who shapes our love. (‘cause…)

Chorus:
We are just a picture
Of the glory that’s to be,
When Jesus takes his perfect bride
For all eternity;
And though our time is fleeting
I will still declare with glee:
“It’s quite a pretty picture… […To me] (Last time only)

…My Valentine,
You are beautiful and your face shines
With a beauty that runs deep;
It’s my privileged to keep your hand. (but…)

(Chorus)

…And Valentine,
When this life is gone and it’s our time,
And we go where there’s no /tears;
We will thank God for the years,
And then we’ll see… (That…)

(Chorus)

I dig it.

In a sermon on marriage I did a couple of weeks ago I challenged my flock to read what the Bible says about the husband and wife relationship and what it says about Jesus and the church. The image of Christ and His bride the Church is seen in our marriages (ideally).
