That's it as I posted before, 4/4 rock beat.

What is your verdict on the comparison?

I know you're at work and I shouldn't be doing this.

So I'll catch you later.

If you were to lose your job over this I would have to send you a check weekly/monthly until you found another job.

I like you, Jon, but not that much. lol

Work? I'm just at it. Not working. :)

Cool thing about these facilities. We cover jobs (just got back in) but even if nothing is going on they have to have us here.

We were doing a camera inspection. But it is in a high radiation contaminated area. The camera is in a sleeve. Once it gets below 42 we can not do it (the sleeving cracks....as it did an hour ago). It's 39.

Sounds like a possible Chernobyl nuclear disaster, be careful.

It opens fine for me.

It's Randy Knaps Praise and Worship with the upbeat.
It was just very slow for me.

Both have the "rock beat". Both were CCM (although no longer contemporary).

I like the first one.

Jimmy Swaggart's is closer to CWM. Same "rock beat". Easy to understand. And he has a good voice.

But the first one is the rock beat we have been discussing. The second one sounds less like CWM and more like Contemporary Gospel (to me the words get jumbled).

Here's a fun story. My father absolutely loved Kenneth Copeland's recordings. He had all of his tapes (8 track tapes). BUT once he heard him preach my Dad threw them all out.

Not a relevant story. Just a fun one.

I won't have anyone to unload on, I'll have to back to boredom.
That's true....but if we were not talking I would just be watching Hulu or something.

When you say the "rock beat" is satanic...are you talking about the rock beat in the first song (Jimmy Swaggart)?

I ask because that is the rock beat typically seen in CWM (and rock music).

Is it more the volume, or tempo (like that second one)?

In the comparison of the 2 it's not so much the beat as the intensity of the beat.

This may sound funny but do you remember the Israelites offering up their children in the Valley o Hinnon?

I did a study on that years ago and read from the old theologians that they would beat on the drums to drown out the sound to the children screaming in the flames.

That's what comes to my mind when I hear the upbeat rock in mockery of our Lord.

Jimmy's was pretty upbeat.

I do not care for music like the second one, but that is nothing like the music we use.

Praise music is no more upbeat (you could dance to parts of Jimmy's music in that video). But the instruments that Jimmy has in the background (the drums and guitars) are more prounced (on par with the paino).

This is what I grew up with (the CWM I liked....and still like):

Before I watch this video I can tell you this 17th century view of what Christ looked like would never make it to the platform in my Church!

Lol, my pastor would burn the Church down before that would happen.

Yea....ignore his hair. He is a great guy (and solid Christian). He has 8 kids....gotta cut him some slack.

It was interesting to see the family at a restaurant after church.

Well, I guess he never read 1 Cor. 11:14, or maybe doesn't care.
I just realized something else interesting. I do not think he ever sang in church (except in the congregation). He is a Christian performer.

Anyway, the point was the song. We sang it. Just not that well.

Well you know what ol' Charlie would say, that would be a shame (the hair) and disgrace (offence to the Lord) in our IFB.

Yea....but we are also commanded to dress modestly :Tongue

I was talking about the song. I never saw the Gaithers or Penrod sing.
