Did you know that John says that "...As many as recieved him, to them gave he power to become prehistoric angel-humans"?

Or does Philippians 2:15 shed some light on a possible interpretatin of Genesis and Job? Philippians 2:15 - "That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world"?

Is there someone who can explain this thinking that the Genesis "sons of God" were angels? The only other place I've heard that stuff is in books on the occult and in the "gospel of Enoch" a supposed ancient Hebrew document of the Apocrypha.

Psa 82:1-8
(1) <A Psalm of Asaph.> God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
(2) How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
(3) Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
(4) Deliver the poor and needy: rid [them] out of the hand of the wicked.
(5) They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
(6) I have said, Ye [are] gods; and all of you [are] children of the most High.
(7) But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
(8) Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

So I don't see a far stretch to understand "sons of god" in Gen. 6.. as the powerful men of that time.. the leaders and rulers of that day.

If that is the case, the rich and powerful took... demanded the daughters of commoners... rape, if you will.

Let me throw something at you. Years ago I sat down with Dr. John McKormick and he had written a small booklet on "The Sons of God and The Daughters of Man." He wrote this. The sons of God were fallen angels they "took" them wives (daughters of man) of all which they chose. The offspring between this relationship were mighty men, men of renown. Could these offspring be the reason for the severe judgement? Where did the Greek mythology figures come from? Figure of ones imagination or did someone see something that was handed down through generations? Now read what God has chained in hell, Rev.9:7-10. Just interesting reading.

Yeah, I've read all of those theories.. just one thing wrong with them...
You would have to beleive in evolution for them to work...
Angels are created beings... nothing like humans..
God created "kinds" to reproduce with their own kind.
And since Jesus makes it clear that Angels do not reproduce, they would not have the DNA required, nor the Chromosones required to join with the human female egg.
So, even though they take on human form.. they would not have the reproductive material to reproduce with humans.

Tim I'm with KJVKid on this one. Where does the Scriptures make it "clear" that angels do not "reproduce"?

I think that would be a hard sell since early in Genesis we are told that Satan will have a "seed" just as the woman would have a "seed". I don't think there's any way we can get around angels being able to reproduce with human women. If they can't then the verse in Genesis would be an impossibility and therefore untrue. Right?

The serpent's seed in Genesis 3:15 is nothing more than the unsaved of the world

Genesis is speaking of the seed of the serpent in a spiritual sense.

Further, women do not have seed. In the human race, it is the male that provides the seed. The seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15 is speaking of none other than the Son Himself. It was a prophecy of the virgin birth foretold clear back in the garden.

Angels do not reproduce.

You are clearly correct in that the "seed" of the woman is the Christ. That's literal. And Satan will have a literal seed as well. It will be the antichrist. He will be the offspring of Satan.

It doesn't make any sense at all to spiritualize the serpant's seed and not the woman's seed.

I have a reference in my 1873 Cambridge for Genesis 3:15 referring one to John 8:44 where Jesus told the Pharisees "Ye are of your father, the devil." Surely you do not think the devil literally came down to this earth and had relations with a woman to produce these Pharisees.

I am of the crowd that likes to let the Scripture speak and then believe what it says. I have read several of your posts on this board and for someone that pushes so hard about what the Bible "says", especially in regard to alcohol, I'm surpised to read that you are trying to take away from what the Scriptures "actually say" in this case.

I guess we only want to let Scripture speak when it agrees with what we want it to say .

Again where does Scripture say that angels can not have relations with humans?

Luke 20:34-38 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

It is clear from this passage of Scripture that it is only children of 'this world' (that excludes angels as they are not of this world) marry. If the 'sons of God' were angels, they would not have been able to marry the daughters of men as Scripture states 'sons of God did. Only children of 'this world' marry.

I have never heard of a Baptist Church embracing such doctrine as the Serpent Seed doctrine I am seeing in your posts in this thread.

As a matter of fact, the doctrine of the serpent having relations with a human smacks of Arnold Murray's Shepherd's Chapel rather than Baptist.
