I figure that lots of folks on this board will be sitting on their hands in the 2006 elections and most certainly the 2008 elections. </font>[/QUOTE]Representing people in Congress and being their Commander in Chief are two different things. One woman in Congress can't tell one man in Congress or anywhere else what to do. One woman as Commander in Chief can tell 5-star Generals to jump and how high and how often and so on.

Very ignorant outlook, IMO. Besides, the president doesn't rule as president, they serve.

And most Christians do not agree with your view toward women being president.

Adam was NOT decieved by the Serpant in the garden, as was Eve. God gave MAN discernment that he did not give to the woman.

Further, the God given attributes of a man are far more suited to filling the office of the most powerful position in the world.

So I want a man for President. Let the Democrats be the ones taking the wrong path.

BLEEP! Most liberal Christians do not agree with his view towards a woman being President, but the Conservatives might just have another mind. So, I will do a poll.

This is all moot, because Condi has said "NO" and "I don't know how much plainer I can make it, NO." As to rather she will be a candidate for President on last weeks "Meet the Press."

Actually it is not. Those of us in the "Draft Condi Movement" are aiming on building such a strong grassroots effort that she can be drafted for the GOP nomination much like Eisenhower was in 1952.

Actually when a potential candidate says no, it is one of those times we can take their answer with a grain of salt. A yes puts way too much work on the table this early on.

I think the serpent knew better that to approach Adam first, since God had told Adam directly not to eat so he went to the one less likely to see through his plan.
Adam was told directly by God Himself not to eat thereof, and Eve was told presumably by Adam and it was Adam's word against the serpent to her. Anyway the Bible says Eve was deceived, and never does say Adam was. The results of that fall put women and men in different roles, and I don't believe being POTUS is one for Eve.
I don't think God wants woman to be in a position of authority over men, and particularly as POTUS.
And that's what I have to say about that.

And yes Terry, the president serves the nation, but all his underlings serve at his pleasure, placing him above them positionally.

Thanks for the explanation, brother. [IMG]

Sorry, but I think your argument is extremely weak and I truly don't believe that most Christians, even politically conservative Christians, buy into it any more than I do.

Besides, the United States is not a theocracy and a rather eccentric political viewpoint held by a tiny percentage of the voters is not going to prevent a woman from being elected president in what I think will be the not too distant future, even if it is not in 2008.

The Republican Party is nothing without the religous right. It can win nothing without the religious right.

Well, that seems to be a wrong assumption according to bluefalcon's SIMPLE poll - 67% say no.

    Blue Falcon's simple poll

And, according to MY COMPLEX POLL, 24% of Conservative voters say no.

Also, IMO, a woman president is a "liberal idea." But I haven't done on-line banking yet either. Old fundies just aren't ready for these changes, LOL. [IMG]

    a blast from the past:

HILLARY CLINTON: "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was to fulfill my profession which I entered before my husband was in public life."

Wow, I didn't know that all Christians voted in that poll or that the poll comprised even a representative sample of all Christians. [IMG]

By the way, the word "liberal" is not a four letter word to me. [IMG]
