Southeastern?

Good point. i looked it up and found this:

"Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and the College at Southeastern are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctorate degrees."

So that seems to be only a regional accreditation? I really don't have a firm grasp on what accreditation means and does.

RL accreditation by SACSCOC (as it is now known) is one of the "cadillacs" of accrediting agencies. If a college maintains SACSCOC accreditation it meets rigorous standards in multiple dimensions. Let it be known, SACS is not a "theological" organization, but rather a professional organization.

Since it was mentioned... SEBTS also has ATS accreditation as well. So it is not just the regional accreditation.

Nice. Well I have been in contact with someone a few weeks ago. Unfortunately not everything was completed in time for me to begin this semester. I need to double check my status and see what else, if anything, is needed so I can begin in the summer semester.

Courses should be available for registration as soon as mid-to-late March, so I would do whatever you need to do over the next 3-4 weeks if possible. This way, you can avoid the summer online classes filling up!

Now that the PhD program is changing (expanding?, yay Dr. Thomas!) I'd do it in the NT, I think. That is what I did my ThM in w/ DAB.

However, I am really interested in SBTS biblical theology PhD. I wish SEBTS would do that. We have some good scholars who excel at biblical theology

It looks like we at least do a PhD in Biblical Studies with a Biblical Theology concentration, but I know that's not quite the same as a Biblical Theology PhD (like the difference of having a PhD in Theology with a Philosophy of Religion concentration vs. having a PhD in Philosophy of Religion). Let me know if you end up coming here, even if for the modular format!

Thanks for the input. I'll be in contact with the school this week.
