Hire the world first and forget about hiring believers? Don't take care of those of the househoild of faith first. Just another way the SBC is continuing to forget about obedience to scripture and putting money first. Just another example of its hypocrisy.

Gal 6:10, "So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith."

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABP) - In order to put more resources into
theological education, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has
dismissed all of its maintenance workers and hired an international
facilities-management company to take over their duties.
According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Seminary spokesman
Lawrence Smith said the move would probably save the school money, but
that was not the reason for the change. "We want to put as many
resources as possible into theological education," he was reported as
saying. "Our job is not facilities management."
The seminary told the 94 employees, which include 26 part-time
workers, their jobs would end March 31, but that they could apply to
work for the new company. Sodexho, based in Gaithersburg, Md., manages
facilities and food services throughout North America, which include
more than 900 institutions of higher education. It has more than 120,000
employees.
The dismissed workers are responsible for such work as cleaning,
groundskeeping, painting, plumbing, carpentry and the maintenance of
heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. Some have been at the
seminary as long as 20 years.
Employees were upset by the news, according to reports. There are
couples losing their jobs, as well as others who provide the sole
support for their families. Four of the employees are international
students, whose employment options are limited because they are here on
student visas. Smith said the seminary and Sodexho are investigating
legal questions about their employment.

Now if we didn't talk about something we didn't really know about ... we wouldn't have anything to talk about! What fun would that be!

I started at SBTS in 1995 and finally finished in December of 2003. During that time i saw tuition rise on a regular basis, along with housing increase of 5% annually (annual cost of living increase is an average of 2.5% in Louisville). During this time a student hangout was elaborately turned into a 3rd chapel on campus, two buildings full of student apartments were turned into a conference center, and Dr Mohler's lawncare never dropped off a bit (while our kids could not play outside in the footlong grass that seminary grounds workers did not have time to cut).
Do i know him personally, i could not call him a friend...no i was not privy enough to have that type of relationship with Dr Mohler. But seeing what was taking place at Southern while i was there really did leave a bad taste in my mouth. At the helm of this was Dr Mohler.

I went to Southern because of the must needed theological changes being made under Dr Mohler...i even took theology under him due to the respect i had for him.
Everything that has taken place there since 1994, good or bad, has Dr Mohler's name on it, lets face it.

I'll say this, and then leave it alone...it will be a very long time before SBTS receives any money from me.
