Or are they cleaning up their membership list which may have members who left the church (or passed away) over the past 30-40 years - let alone 1-29 years!

Just looked at our membership list - 29 active members - regular attendance is about 15 - and at least 1/3 of the current attendees are not members.
All I can speak for is my geographic area. SBC church membership(attendance I should say) is in huge decline. The non denominational Mega church and Andy Stanley's Church are the only ones showing any significant growth. (I honestly can't say for sure if Andy is SBC or not. If he is, he sure ain't typical.)
Most of the SBC churches are showing significant decline.

I would say it is a combination of the two -

I can state for a fact there are some churches in Greater Orlando that have woman preachers and are growing...in numbers. This is especially true of the husband-wife pastor tandem. The question is whether these churches are producing growing disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.
How does God bless this?

Better to just stick with the Bible and not have women preaching from pulpits on Sunday morning. Women can serve in many other capacities.

And most country clubs are full and not selling memberships. Numbers are a metric, but they are by no means an indicator of spiritual health of a church.
