I don't see how. The opposite has been stated repeatedly by more than one person.I agree with your statement above. I thought some of you gentlemen did not believe that any miracles happen in our times.

No, Paul never said that at all. In fact he said that the sign gifts would cease when that which is perfect (completed) is come. The completed Word of God is come. Are you inferring that Christ at some time in his life was incomplete? No, it was the Word of God that was incomplete, and now is complete. And thus the temporary means of giving revelation (prophecy, tongues, revelatory knowledge) have ceased. Christ or Paul never suggested that they would continue until his coming. That is just your imaginary idea.Originally posted by tamborine lady:
I;m sorry , that won't work, because you youself have told us that if it is not in the bible, we can't use it.
So if we use your answer, we could "assume", that somewhere, Paul said the gifts (including tongues} would continue until Jesus comes back, but just didn't write it down.
Absolutely! Now, are you sure you want to stand pat on that answer???
You have been repeatedly shown that these verses, when taken in context, refer to the Apostolic age, and yet you fail to believe. Have you had your daily dose of Drano yet?You have already been shown that "Mark 16-18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." says if not when.
Sure is, "But if you drink any poisonous thing it will not harm you! So don't fear, and drink up. You are the one that beleives the passage is for today.Originally posted by tamborine lady:
You have to admit, if you look at it, that drano remark is really nasty!!

If we leave your thought right here, this is the precise reason why so many Christians never get to the missionfield, never go into the Lord's service, never dedicate their lives to the Lord for any cause whatsoever.Originally posted by Ray Berrian:
The Word of God speaks about 'presumptous sinning' when we wilfully take advantage of His grace as Christians. We are not encouraged to tempt the Lord to discipline us

You are quite correct that all of the above have embraced the tongues-speaking movement of today. And having done such they are rightly called Charismatic and fall under the umbrella of the Charismatic umbrella. There are some Charismatic Baptists (unfortunately), Charismatic Catholics, and even Charismatic Mormons. The Charismatic movements is very broad drawing people from all types of cults and religions having in commong this one great entity of speaking in tongues. It is major force in pushing along the agenda of the future one world church of the Antichrist. Indeed we are living in the end times.Originally posted by Ray Berrian:
music4Him,
Presbyterians, Roman Catholics, people from independent churches and I have a Mennonite friend who have the 'gift of tongues.' Jesus tells us that we are one Body in Christ; your gift blesses me and my gift blesses you. There is no reason for jealousy.
Lake Witney, Texas--you post was exactly right. I am in full agreement with you.
As far as labels like Baptist, Pentecostal, Charasmatic, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, etc. --these labels will drop off on the way up or burn off on the way down.
Please tell me where you find "gibberish" as a gift of the Spirit.Originally posted by music4Him:
Ray thats right I don't see the gifts in only one denomination I see them in all types of denominations.
