Like I said I don't see anyone in the bible doing this, praying for someone to be healed. So this is not biblical then.
Noone has yet to show biblical evidence.

Medical proof? Total blindness, no chance of sight, to be healed, all at once, no time lapse, with no sight problems whatsoever.

    Not according to scripture.

If you possess the gift of healing then, go to where to sick people are and start healing. Becasue if you have it you are responsable for using it, or not using it as the case may be.

The apostle Paul disagrees with you. Read 1 Corinthians 12.

Noone has yet to show biblical evidence.

Acts 5:15 and 16-added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Acts 9:17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
9:18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Acts 9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

Medical proof? Total blindness, no chance of sight, to be healed, all at once, no time lapse, with no sight problems whatsoever.

Yes! Totally healed by the Power of the Holy Spirit!

    Not according to scripture.

1 Corinthians 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

If you possess the gift of healing then, go to where to sick people are and start healing. Becasue if you have it you are responsable for using it, or not using it as the case may be.

I never said I possess the gift of healing. I am indwelt with the Holy Spirit. I can do all things according to the Spirit that abides within me. It is not me, it never has been me. I am filled with the Holy Spirit, and according to His will to heal, I will pray for people as I am led. I do go to the sick and pray. But I do not heal! God, through us heals.

Katie, I am not trying to make you angry with me. If what I post makes you mad, I am sorry for that. I believe 100% in what I am saying. I do not wish for this to be a divisve issue. God Bless You Katie.

    And you have medical proof?
Ther has yet to be medical proof offered in the christian community for this.

No, you said we all have the gift of healing, which means the person with the gift of healing should be able to go and people be immediately healed. If we all have this gift there should be a long list of people who have been healed because of you, and your prayer, even if God does the actual healing, He would have used you to do it through. So how about a lost of all the wonderful healing God has done through you, if we all have the gift.

Not the least bit mad, sorry you thought so. I just believe we need biblical evidence for everything concerning God, everything we think is biblical needs to be proven that it is.

Medical proof? A man was blind, then he could see!
LOL! I am not sure for this, anyone needed medical proof. I guess if he was healed from cancer, or something, but not blindness.

I am not claiming to be a faith-healer. I do not control when God heals. Nor do I say it is up to the persons faith wheather they are healed. We pray for people, and ask Jesus to heal them, if He does, then Praise God! If He does not, we will keep praying for them. I do not walk around and tell people that everyone I personally pray for will be healed. Just like everyone I witness to does not get saved. I just do what the bible tells me to do.

    Katie,
You never commented about the other verses I shared about healing. Why not?

You don't feel that when people claim miracles they need to be proven to be real miracles? It can be anything anyone claims and you dan't care as long as they say it was a healing from God. Uhh.

If you'll look back over what you did say, you said we all have all the gifts. That means you have the gift of healing. So which is it? You either have all the gifts like you said, or you don't?

What if as in Paul's case healing is not God's will?

I was an eye witness. I needed no medical proof. Besides, nobody needs to prove anything to me.

    Yes, but not on demand.

What if as in Paul's case healing is not God's will?
</font>[/QUOTE]Then they will not be healed, this side of heaven. Should we stop praying? How do we know the will of God? or God's timing? If my children were extremely sick, and in alot of pain, do you think I would give up on praying for them, and chalk it up to, " I guess God just wants them to suffer!" No way! I would persevere in prayer until they either died, or they were healed. Give-up? Never!

    With all due respect Katie,
I am feeling as if I have to defend every point I have made.
I have explained with scripture why I believe as I do. I am explaining even more-so in another thread.
You want actual documental proof of what I have said, and anything I would offer, I do not think would satisfy.
You never answered me about the scriptural reference I gave you about praying for healing.
I am not sure if you just want to argue with me here, or what.
I really love discussing the Word, but not in a "defensive" manner.
I am sorry if I have offended you.
On these boards, we need to either believe one another, or discredit what they say. You have chosen to not believe what I have stated, and you have that freedom.
You can go to the other thread and read from scriptures (in order) on why I believe in the gifts operating today.(if you are interested)
Then, my position will be throughly explained.
    Thanks and God Bless!

Yes it would, medical proof. That is nothing less then reasonable.
Prooving that something is truelly fromGod is biblical. Believeing anything that comes along is not.

Praying for someone who is sick is not the same as having the gift of healing. In the bible the gift of healing is treated differently then when we are told to pray for the sick. They are scripturally two different things.

I never said too. Praying for the sick person, is not the gift of healing.

I guess I goofed at posting the previous comment on the quote above. But it strikes me the argumentative nature of many of the post, "accomplishing nothing" except perhaps I hope a sense of bearing with each other's burdens, which is of course in keeping with scripture.

But can we really limit God to the Scriptures. The Pharisees did this precisely and to the same extremes as the so-called 'Taliban' did in our day. Christian scriptures are of course about the gospel of Jesus who is love personified. those who are fixated on justifying everything about God from a literal reference to be found in the scriptures --I wonder. The Pharisees did not recognize Jesus from their scriptures even though they were full of prophecies pointing to him. It was only after the Holy Spirit opened the minds of believers that they found the fullness of God in the scriptures. I sense that this "straining at the gnat" impression that I get from many postings lacks "if the Son of Man sets you free you shall be free indeed" approx quote. It reminds me when I expressed profound disappointment to a young evangelist one time and he said to me, "Perhaps you expected too much from God." I had to laugh. He was embarrassed. Let us relay on scripture but is not over-reliance on scriputre a reflection of our fear and lack of spiritual discernment and freedom. We also possess the Spirit of God within and He testifies to the things of God old and new. Are we not prepared to witness to the fact that the new things God is doing all the time may be have its parallel in scripture? Yes be of God nonetheless. Just an observation.

one other thing to point out on the Day of Pentecost the word tongues is referring to native languages not some sort of spiritual language that some denominations would have u believe....just thought i would add that to board
