Wrong. To win one must mobilize the base. The base stayed home on Nov. 4.

You guys really believe there are enough republican's to win an election? That's going to be really hard to do when less than 35% of registered voters consider themselves a Republican and only a fraction of that number are hard core republican's (not moderate).

The number of Republicans slipped two-tenths of a point in January to 32.8% in November to 32.6% in December. That’s the lowest number of Republicans in the country since last July.

However, I think this guy breaks down the shrinking GOP better than anyone I've seen.

Facing demographic disaster in 2008, the Republican party may pursue new variations on the Southern strategy, trying to maximize the ever-shrinking conservative white vote. Expect familiar demonization of immigrants, tired broadsides against black welfare-queens, and continual Rush Limbaugh denunciations of femi-nazis and gays as destroying the American way of life. In the short run, the GOP can count on the old Southern strategy to keep its grip on white, male, frequent churchgoers—but the problem for the GOP is that these same voter groups are losing their grip on America.

I didn't think so. It takes a lot of arrogance to think 35% of the voters can win an election. Heck man, they're starting to loose in the red states.

Which is obvious once again.
Sometimes I do not agree with LeBuick, but his posts are well thought out and logical.

Yours cannot be followed because they have no logic or common sense.

Do yourself a favor and dont tell anyone it is "obvious once again they did not think."

Republicans? No. Conservatives, yes — even when Democrats vote more than once, register dead or fictitious people, and bus illegal aliens to the polls.

Bolded mine

You really should seriously reconsider the bolded phrase!
If I was going to reconsider it, it would not have been typed in the first place. I do not mind a difference of opinion when there is a basis for it. On the other hand, if one is going to spout off conservative or liberal catch phrases without having a clue about the issue, there is no reason to exchange ideas with someone like that.

If you have factual proof of voter fraud start a new thread and link us to it. I'm game for a good discussion. If this is more GOP ACORN dribble then don't bother, you tried that this last election and lost...

100% agreement; that's why I questioned the remark!

edited to add:

Perhaps I should note that I'm not suggesting that the drivel is one-sided; just that this particular comment is not appropriate in its application.
