Squatting in America

1.Change the stupid laws 2. Kick squatters out of the houses based on the owners complaint. 3. Kick illegals out of the country based on the fact they are in the country illegally. 4. Kick the radical liberals that put the stupid laws into place out of office.

5. All illegals that are allowed to stay are placed immediately into wealthy liberals homes and let those liberals provide for all their needs

peace to you

Really what they are doing is very much scary!
So far in my little town we have seen an uptick of vehicle hit and runs resulting in innocent peoples deaths, an uptick in drug trafficking and arrests, squatting in abandoned buildings, knife fights in the streets with stabbings etc.

I am glad SC "squatter" laws are different.

If one moves into a vacant property, the property does not have signs prohibiting trespasses, nobody tells the guy he has to leave, he lives there for at least 10 years, and he makes improvements to the property, then he may be able to take advantage of squatter laws.

Missouri law, as I understand it, if someone moves into a vacant home, puts utilities in their name, changes their address to that of the home, pays property taxes and lives there ten years… they own it.

The cold will drive great numbers out of your country, cold and dark clouds, God is not mocked. Those who betrayed their oaths of Office to God and man will be held to account, they made oaths with merrymaking betrayal in their hearts.

What in the world are you talking about? Who is mocking God? Who has “betrayed their oaths of office to God”? What oaths are you talking about? Who has “betrayal in their hearts”?

These are not making improvements or paying taxes… they are here for any and all freebies they can get. They are freeloaders.

Oh, I understand. They look for obits, rush to get into the house, change the locks, claim they have a lease, live rent free for months and leave the house demolished with tens of thousands in damages. Terrible people.

I often wonder if this isn’t how vigilante groups formulated in the past as a means of confronting the lawless because we apparently have no mechanism to curtail this activity. Then violence becomes the intimidation factor. I’ve seen it years ago … the police were powerless to stop a slippery drug pusher who located himself in a building next to a college giving himself convenient access to college students. Then he targeted the high school, middle school etc. Well one day the police were called out on the opposite side of town while a very large man who was a town citizen came a calling on the drug pusher. The pusher I’m told skipped and fell outa a higher story window… then was dragged back up the stairs for another go. At that point, the drug pusher relented and vacated the town never to be heard from again—- true story!

You have a very good point. As US citizens, we give up the “right” of the “blood avenger” (think OT) on the promise the government will protect us otoh and punish offenders on the other.

When the government fails in either promise, folks sort of instinctively desire to get it done.

Of course, this mindset is dangerous as vigilante groups don’t adhere to standards of conduct that protect constitutional rights and due process.

But…. You do make a good point.
