    BIR,

    Thanks.

This one little line sums it up for me:

    Translation: As a liberal theologian....

The rest is pretty much irellevant.

Read part of it. I totally disagree with him. I don't care if he is a Republican. He is a liberal. And his ideas are wrong for America.

So, you haven't read it completely?

Okay, at least you admit that.

One of the most positive aspects about John Danforth mentioned in the article:

Of course I haven't. I have no need for the views of a liberal like Danforth.

He is right. Their most strongly held conviction is compromise and to have no convictions whatsoever, as was mentioned earlier in the article:

The Moderate Conviction of all moderate convictions: Compromise (don't have any convictions). Interesting how it goes along so well with the label moderate.

    Ok BiR,

Just read the whole article. Danforth is a liberal and not worthy of the time I just wasted reading his hate filled diatribe against conservatives. Him, Wallice, and Carter will make good buddies, I am sure.

Right on Joe! Danforth is very popular here in Missouri, even Democrats like him! Since he's Episcopilain I take everything he says with a grain of salt.

I really don't know why him and McCain just don't become Democrats?

</font>[/QUOTE]So, what exactly are you posing here, Joseph? Are you saying that everyone simply has to succumb to the point of view held by the conservatives, and those who claim to be conservative?
Are you suggesting that compromise is not a virtue? What in place of compromise would be considered a virtue?

So, are you suggesting that all liberals should simply shut up and embrace conservatism?

I found this this point interesting……

Absolutely not, BiR. I think they should continue spewing their hate as much and as loudly as they can. However did you get that I was suggesting that? Where did I say that? All I said is that I, unfortunately wasted my time reading it and had no intention of doing so in the future. Freedom of Speech does not translate into a right to be heard. I also have a right to ignore it.

I did not assume anything, and even reproduced the statements that compelled me to ask the question. I never wrote that you said that, did I? I went out of my way to ask, rather than simply jump to a conclusion.

    That is your right.

Yes, it does, and we have had this discussion in a prior discussion.

There is no right to be heard by the American Public whatsoever.

Of course there isn't. I don't have to listen to you, therefore, you have no right to be heard by the public. Now stop being silly.

I see that you are still under the fallacious misconception that the right to be heard hinges upon your requirement to listen. It does not.

We have already had this discussion, Joseph.

    Joseph,

If you would like to discuss this in what Sean and Rush refer to as the arena of ideas, then by all means start a new topic.

Here's a tip: using words like "silly" really don't support or augment your point. Quite the contrary, they make you look juvenile.
