Starbucks response: We failed to meet this customer's expectations of us, and we have apologized and are working directly with her to make it right. This experience is not consistent with our standards or the welcoming and respectful experience we aim to provide every customer who visit our stores. We have spoken with our store partners about this situation and are using this as a coaching opportunity for the future.

Starbucks Employees Harass Trump Supporter. Here's How Starbucks Responded.

Call the comment number, and find a new coffee place. Neither the barista nor the customer come out looking good playing at school yard antics.

I don't think that is reflective of Starbucks as a company but instead it was the individual workers. I am sure that the customer will get a good sized gift card, an apology and the employees will need to have some additional training. Starbucks isn't necessarily evil. I don't go there a lot but sometimes I do enjoy my free beverages that I get with gift cards that I earn from Bing Rewards. :)
Follow the money. Look at who Starbucks donates to.

Free speech exercised by Starbucks employee. Stop the presses! News Flash!

Fragile Snowflake...
Do you understand freedom of speech? The Constitutional protection of free speech is a protection from govt infringment. Its not a protection against employee codes cog conduct, etc.

As every Cuban grandmother knows, Starbucks is not coffee. This poor lady with the Trump shirt needs a real cup of coffee.

Amen. Prefer the real stuff myself.

You've really lost it. You should seek treatment for Trump Derangement syndrome.

Ya, that's applicable here.

Interesting that Trump is supposed to be politically incorrect but when one of his supporters is teased she goes to the press. Hilarious.

About as much as that basketball player on some minor league team in New York who said Jews, who own most of the teams, are "good in business" and got suspended for it.

I think blessedwife318 got it right in #21 - "school yard antics" by both parties.
It's also a bit odd that your posts appear to place 100% of the onus on the customer and zero on the barista's unprofessional behavior, though perhaps that was done to push back at those who place all the blame on Starbucks.

And I'm okay with their coffee, or would be if it cost half as much. DD prices are getting up there, too, but not yet in Starbucks territory and I prefer DD anyway.

It's just that this incident seems petty in comparison to what happened to Scalise and the others - some woman is laughed at at a Starbucks, what's the big deal? She should just never go there again and be glad they didn't spit in her coffee.

If you think this is acceptable behavior for employees toeard anyone:

"They shouted out build a wall and shoved a drink at me and then all the barisatas in the back started cracking up laughing," said Hart.

...you've gone round the bend.

Please show me where I said it was acceptable behavior. I said it doesn't rise to the level of going to the press and complaining about being "bullied".

For Pete's sake, a Trump supporter sucker punches a black guy at a Trump rally during the primary season last year and there were people on this board that thought it was no big deal. Now, here's a woman that draws some giggles at a Starbucks for wearing a MAGA tee shirt and you guys think it's newsworthy.

It wasn't one person, it was the entire staff. Of course she felt threatened and humiliated. She probably won't win as much as she wants but this goes sound actionable.

Free speech ? Absurd.

If she was wearing a rainbow hat with a pink triangle and this happened would she be able to claim to be threatened and humiliated ?

Why is it absurd? Saying "build a wall" and laughing is not free speech anymore? There is no penalty forthcoming from Starbucks. Just an opportunity to train others.

We don't recognize free speech where I work. You say something offensive you get in trouble. The video you talked about, the geezer who punched the protester was roughed up and arrested, while the guy who got punched simply keeps strutting upstairs. Happy ending for all, I would say. You want us to condemn the entire Trump fan club for that stupid old man ?

I find this to be a newsworthy item. Like I said, she wants too much money but a good lawyer should be able to shake Starbucks down for a few bucks out of court style.

This is not what happened at Starbucks. No penalty, no trouble for the servers.

No, and I didn't say that. I said there were people on BB (read:Trumpies) that thought it was no big deal the guy got sucker punched but now their undies are being twisted because some flunky at Starbucks said "build a wall" and laughed. Surely you can see the difference between getting punched in the face and having to listen to three words and some giggling? Three words which happens to be Trump's signature declaration for how to Make America Great Again.

I disagree with you to the point I think you're being ridiculous and since I don't want you to accuse me of "stalking" you I'll simply bow out.
