Given that it is billwald - no, I doubt very much that he is being sarcastic.

On a side note.. nice question about the Big Bang having free will.. Or was it predestined to blow up?
One thing about Good ole Bill.. with almost 6000 posts under his belt, he has to have the longest record for a troll being on a message board.
Big bang was predestined. This universe is God's computer game. When a person plays a game against himself he usually knows which side will win.
Once God made his decree the ball kept rolling. Ever read Asimov's "Foundation" series? You should. God is smarter than Harry Seldon.

>That is a deist position, and refuted by Scripture which makes plain that God is intimately involved in every aspect of the operation of this universe.
You say that God could NOT theoretically design an evolving universe? Just asking. <G>
And, if we are turning to faith anyway, why not invoke Occam's razor and choose the most elegant and simple proposition; God created the universe and runs it just like He says.
Funny to see that term, as the anti-theistic scientists claim that's what somehow rules out a creator!
It will be a sad day for the good Dr. to receive a new body (he will be able to walk, talk, etc.), an eternal body, only to find himself in the lake of fire separated eternally from the God he did not believe in.
Jane Hawking is a Christian. She made the statement in 1986, "Without my faith in God, I wouldn't have been able to live in this situation;" namely, the deteriorating health of her husband. "I would not have been able to marry Stephen in the first place because I wouldn't have had the optimism to carry me through and I wouldn't have been able to carry on with it."
