It’s amazing that as Americans, we now have to go to the BBC, the UK Daily Telegraph etc for what’s really going on in the world

CNN was reporting on the situation when I went to bed last night and also when I got up this morning. MSNBC was reporting on the situation on their last live show last night. I posted an Associated Press article on the situation on my Facebook page before I went to bed last night.

I don't know as I don't spend all day watching the various news channels - CNN, MSNBC, Fox, NewsNation, etc. I checked on CNN, MSNBC, and Fox specifically before I went to bed last night. From what I can tell, CNN seems to be the one covering the potential Russian civil war the most.

Frankly, I am tired of the Republican and Democratic Parties and all of their investigations. But, I guess that means the United States must be in great shape , as it appears that investigating each other is about all that the Republican and Democratic Parties do anymore. Proves that George Washington was spot on when he urged the United States to avoid having political parties.

Who would justify wrongdoing by claiming their opponent is just as bad? Demonics?

Am I the only one who finds this fascinating?
Are we witnessing a moment like the collapse of the Berlin Wall, or is it just going to blow over in a day or two? I can't understand why the Russian air force hasn't spent their day bombing and strafing the Wagner convoy to bits. Or is there something else going on of which we are unaware?
No answers, no prophesies; just puzzlement.

I watched the events unfolding in Russia on the YouTube channel, INSIDE RUSSIA, Konstantine, originally operated from Russia, but left when he was afraid of being drafted. He now operates from Kazakhstan and last night had a livestream for hours giving the news from sources in Rusdia as they developed. He speaks goog English and lived and worked in the USA for some years. He seems to be an Orthodox and used to end his streams in a prayer. I don't usually watch to the end as his posts are rather long.

Is the commotion going on with Russian leaders the "take your eyes off the ball" object being used to take the Biden crime family off the front page? Probably.

It was a negotiation between rival warlords of the Wagner group vs the Russia federation.

The negotiation was completed. Wagner and Russia compromised.

Gunboat diplomacy, except in Russia it's tanks and forces within striking distance of the Kremlin building instead of gunboats off the coast.

Similar to how negotiations used to happen in past empires. Threaten a city in exchange for the emperor to grant boons.

couldn’t Putin have just as easily destroyed the tanks? What card was Wagner holding that disallowed Putin to wipe them out?

I believe Wagner is one of the most effective of Putin's cobbled-together forces in Ukraine. If Putin wiped out Wagner then he knew he would lose his last chance at winning the war. Russia's armed forces are a weird combo of Federal Army units (Russian Government) and then subcontracted private armies (Like Wagner and the Chechen group. Wagner seems to be one of the better forces)

If Putin wiped out Wagner he'd be cutting off his nose to spite his face.

That is because Wagner's columns are moving through populated Russian towns. Also, Putin does not want to take the pressure off Ukraine. Any respite for the Ukrainian military makes it more difficult for the Russians.

Side note: Russia cannot defeat Ukraine. Russia is fighting a war of attrition. Putin wants to depose Zalensky and set up a puppet regime like the former Soviet Union did in the Warsaw Pact nations. Putin is paranoid. He wants a buffer between Russia's western border and NATO. This is why it is dangerous for the U.S. to have any direct involvement in this war. This is a European problem and should remain so.
