I am doing a personal Bible study in the book of Lamentations.

Here are the resources I am using in this study.

Please post additional resources you can suggest in this important study for our time.

You’ve got Logos Bible Software?
You’ve got a great pastoral selection there.

I’d add Tremper Longman’s “Understanding the Bible Commentary on Jeremiah and Lamentations“ only because I value his other works.

Richard Brooks’ commentary looks intriguing.
(I don’t have either though).

I once won a church bible quiz when asked what book began, “How lonely sits the city”.
But I’ve never really studied the book of Lamentations.

I’d be interested if you could post a few gems you find during your study.

I would use Strong's, Vines and Unger's. Then I would read three or four different translations. Finally, I would do an inductive study where I write down my observations, my questions and my interpretation. After that I would go to PreceptAustin to read various commentaries and see what I may have missed.
Finally, I would write down my application of the verses and passages.

Reading other sources comes after I make my own observation. In this way, other thoughts will not bias what I observe. I want God to open up His word to me. I want to have the mind of Christ, not the mind of some other commentator. I desire to dig deep into what the text actually says with only the text speaking.

This is my preference and how I would go about studying the Lamentation of Jeremiah.

Particular,

Thank you for your suggestions. PreceptAustin is a source I have never used. I look forward to giving it a try.
