A study has been out 9 months, linking abortions to significant increases in breast cancer, yet the media has not reported it. This study was done in Washington State. Other similar studies done in Turkey and in China have come to similar findings. But the ACS has not presented this information.
After listening to the report on the radio, I googled and found this news link concerning the Dolle report.
According to this radio program, there were similar studies previously done.... but when a panel established to review and report through the NCI or ACS their determination of whether there was a link.... They upfront eliminated 26 of the 32 studies and only reviewed the remaining 6 studies whihc supported inconcllusive data or no relationship.
Dr. Stan Montieth conducted the interview with Karen Malec but the physiological process as to why this occurrs was explained:
The breast of a woman who has never conceived contain many glandular but immature cells which have an increased propensity to become activated to form cancer when stimulated by various agents.
The first conception produces hormones which stimulate these cells in the most early stages of pregnancy.... sometimes before there's any other evidence perceived by the mother. This stimulation causes these cells to start changing, multiplying and maturing. If conception progresses to birth then many of these cells mature to produce milk and are stablized by their maturity to less influence to become cancerous.
But in the woman who conceives and aborts.... the stimulation of change occurrs on the cellular level but does not complete itself into maturing as it's being abruptly stopped by the aborting of hormonal stimulation produced by ending the pregnancy. That brief time of stimulation has actually increase more immature cells as well as starting an incompleted maturing in the cells already present.
Beginning with the first pregnancy.... each pregnancy which is completed by a birth also helps to correctly bring into maturity more cells within the breast tissue and reduces the immature or partially changed cells present in the breast tissue.
Other hormonal factors which also increase the incidence of breast cancer include the use of birth control pills; also ERT which occurrs usually later in life. High consumption of milk is also implicated in ^ breast cancer.
According to the interview..... 5 successful suits have already occurred as the result of abortions in patients who were not fully informed by their doctors of this increased risk. One was in Portland, considered to be a rather liberal place and before it could be brought before the jury, the suit was settled to keep it from being published. Some of these involved young women who were minors at the time they aborted ....... but had not yet developed breast cancer but found this information concerning the risks was already available but withheld from them as one of the risks which they should consider before aborting their babies.
