Of course the world has stopped to mourn the death of the king of pop. There is NOTHING else on the news!

Why are we (as a society so obsessed with this man??????)

I have been hearing some the dumbest statements today during this coverage. I thought I would start a thread to share.

1. "He was an entity in himself."
(what???? what in the world does that mean??)

2. "More tonight on the SHOCKING death of Michael Jackson."
(doesn't everybody die? what is so shocking about a man who had drug problems, emotional problems, ect....for many years dying? Why do we get so shocked when celebrities die? Are they immune?)

3. "Michael Jackson was like my famous older brother. I just cried all day when I learned he had died."



People! Get a life!

Once in a while someone dies & people are just stunned. Do I believe that Jackson's death is sad? Yes. Did I like his music? Yes, in the late 70's & 80's. I don't think this will be any different than when Elvis Presley died. I also believe that there will be a lot of Micheal Jackson impersonators, just like with Elvis. As talented as he was & as influential as he was, I believe that the he was a child molester. He may have been aquitted in court, but in the court of public opinion he's guilty. I do believe that the first case that never went to court was bogus though. If he molested my child, & he offered me money, I would still press charges. No amount of money would keep him safe from me throwing the book at him.

I also have a theory on his death. I was listening to The Schnitt Show (a radio talk show). They played the 911 recording. The doctor that was helping Jackson, is now missing. He was performing CPR on Jackson while he was on the bed. CPR is supposed to be performed on a hard surface, never on a bed. Plus he is a cardiologist. Most cardiologists carry a defribilator. To me it sounds a little suspicious. I think he's could have possibly been killed. There's no way of knowing for sure without a criminal investigation.

I personally dont get in to pop music much at all. I'm more into roots music.

But regarding pop music Michael Jackson isnt even in the same universe as the Beatles. Not even remotely close. (for that matter he isnt in the same universe as Frank Sinatra either.)

I dont care if he sold more records. I'm talking about quality and integrity

I emailed FNC and complained bitterly about their 24-hour non-stop coverage over the death of a freakish accused pedophile who sexually grabbed himself and gyrated America's youth into further moral decay in the name of "entertainment", while America is going up in flames in Congress. A lot of good that did. :BangHead:

When asked repeately by TV " How will you remember Michael Jackson"? I can only think of one reply, as a admitted pedophile who likes to sleep with children other then his own.

When I saw that Jackson had died, I knew there would be nothing else on the news for days but non-stop coverage about him, and the coverage would continue for weeks (remember when Anna Nicole died and the press repeaterd every little detail of her life and death for weeks ad nauseam?) The coverage of Jackson's death will make the media obsession over her look like a tiny footnote.

I agree 100% with Lady Eagle's comments above. "The king of pop"? The only thing he was king of was pedophilia. All the world's adulation and fawning is truly sickening and I'm gald there is a place on the Internet (meaning here) where I can say that freely!
