Yes, the Super Bowl will be held on 13 Feb

What will your church be doing that afternoon?

If you currently have afternoon/evening services, will you be having a super bowl get together?

If you dont have afternoon/evening services, will you be having a super bowl get together?

Other activities?

Our church uses it as a time of outreach to the community. I’m not sure I’m on board with the program, because I stopped watching back when Landry was fired.

Just to present a tidbit of trivia, Landry had a wonderful testimony and was also on the board of Dallas Theological Seminary.

Here is an article where he tells of his own conversion, and challenges. https://www.baptistpress.com/resour...nges-fellow-christians-to-abide-by-the-rules/

The Lord willing, I will be driving home from church services that morning and fellowship with fellow believers at a restaurant afterward.

We do not have evening services.

The Lord willing, I will be watching the Super Bowl in my living room with my dogs. I am favoring the Rams to win. None of the dogs have told me who they support yet. However, since they are dogs, I doubt they will be supporting the Bengals, being that Bengals are large cats. Also, as they are Shetland Sheepdogs and rams are male sheep, I figure they will be supporting the Rams.

A few years back, my home church started serving lunch 15 or so minutes after the AM service (+/-12:30 PM). We then have a PM service at 2:30.

Our church in Wyoming had a unified service EVERY Sunday (10-12:45 then meal) since many members travelled 100 miles one way. Sunday AM & PM was not tenable as such distance.

A family (NOT church function) would host a Superbowl Party almost every year and any who wanted to join in could. As long as they brought food. We ARE Baptist, you know.

Would you - esp as a pastor have it as a church function?

Our church was a giant "family" (many churches think of themselves as such, but fall far short) so if we want an "all church/family event" we could so call it.

But a sports event is NOT the purview of a CHURCH function. Nor is a baby shower or spa day or garage sale. So we made clear distinction of a "church" function (part of church ministry) and a function where some members of the "church" attend.

So our 10 am worship IS a church function. Our fellowship dinner IS a church function. A super-bowl party is NOT.
