I wonder how much of this debate in showing reverence to God is really showing reverence to men. I honestly believe what we wear to church does not matter in the least as long as its modest and is not distracting. The underground church being persecuted would probably laugh at our first world church 'issues'. Its stupid. If you want to wear a suit, tuxedo, khakis, shorts, t's, work clothes if coming from work,..have at it. God judges the heart, not the appearance.

More true words- except they would likely cry more than laugh. If you have ever lived in a third-world country as I have, you wonder what planet these people live on.

In Spite Of....

Webdog and Mexdeaf....inspite of my afore-stated personal preferences about church attire I have to admit that you guys are probably right with your last two respective comments. I'm just getting tired of the "new way" because I think it is short on respect for a holy God. Our entire world is short of respect and fear for God. I just think things like this are symptomatic of bigger issues. As I stated earlier...I'm glad to see people in church under the preaching of God's Word regardless.

I think when moral and modesty issues are present, you're absolutely right.
