    Not sure, LeBuick... I wasn't around then. But you can bet that many of the songs that are "universal" today met with similar criticism from some. Some people wouldn't be happy if you hung them with a new rope, and I'm convinced that some are constantly unhappy because it makes them happy. For some people in some churches I've served in, Jesus Christ Himself could get up and lead worship, and if He used a "contemporary" song, they wouldn't like it.

    "Now I lift my name on high...
    Boy, I love to sing my praises..."

    Josh, the sad thing is that they wouldn't even recognize Him. He wouldn't fit their personal profile of how a man should look, sing, or preach.
