Since we believe that the soon-to-be-born baby is a live person
do we count that baby in our Sunday School and Church attendance?

Open for discussion!

Not counting the mom twice- just counting mom and the baby!
In a way, I see her point -
So - wait till mom makes the announcement!

So why does your church no longer have SS?

Here is a Southern Baptist Church I sometimes attend...

Good people... Nice church... They just don't have a Sunday School. Or... Advertise themselves as Southern Baptist either. I find this a growing trend post Covid in that churches no longer have Sunday School or display a denominational name on their advertisements.

Next time you attend, why not ask the pastor?

My Church Family has renounced and departed the SBC because of their drift into herracy. We oppose women Pastors and practicing homos.

I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. - 1 Corinthians 11:3

If I would put my thoughts on the hierarchy it would be....

1. God the Father
2. God the Son (Jesus Christ)
3. God the Holy Spirit
4. A good Senior Pastor
5. A Christian man
6. A Christian woman

*** Noting especially I put no denomination between the Senior Pastor and Christ Jesus.
*** Noting especially the importance of a good senior pastor. If you can't support the guy don't get involved!

I do believe the senior pastor is the head of the church. Getting to know the Senior Pastor is a good thing. The Northstar Church looks packed out every Sunday with Virginia Tech students. He has such activity on his hands I would be hard put finding a good time for such a question.

When I was 6 years old - every Sunday I would ask the pastor a question about the service.

The story you gave me in post # 12 makes you sound like a politician!

So the old adage - if you have something to do - do it yourself.

A politician.... Politics in a church can be a bad thing. I hope I have not played it.

I say no.

Human beings, even the unborn, have to meet certain physical, mental, emotional, legal, and even spiritual milestones to participate in things.

I say no to counting a fetus as a member of Sunday School for the same reason as say no to making a 2-year-old boy a deacon.

The human milestones have not been met.

The little boy has not met the spiritual, emotional or mental milestones to become a deacon.

For a fetus - a living unborn baby created by God - the most important milestone that has not been met is the physical one. He or she cannot physically be in a different room than his or her mother. An unborn baby could only be a member of his or her mother's class.

We certainly acknowledge their presence because they are blessings but no headcount until they seoerate from their mothers. On the other hand it is not a bad practice.
