What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial?

How about none of the above. IMO, that was the most deplorable collection of advertising in Super Bowl history. I taught a section on advertising at a local college a few years ago. None of the ads would've earned an A. A handful would earn a B. The two Clydesdale ads - the one fetching a stick and the great-grandfather spots were probably the closest to being entertaining. The go-daddy ads were base, pandering and tasteless. The rest lacked originality. Groin shots are a dime a dozen. Troy whatshisname will never be Joe Green.

Just my opinion.

I vote for none of the above as well, but it's because I don't remember any of them. The only one I even remember is the go daddy ads, but only because I follow racing and I know the name Danica Patrick.

*tangent alert* What annoys me about Danica is that it wasn't that long ago that she came out and said that she wanted to be known only for her racing. Danica, if that was true, then you need to act like it. Doing ads like those for godaddy.com make it look like all you want to do is cash in. Which is fine. But, don't try to tell us something different.

So, godaddy has Danica and I remember the commercial because of that, but the ad still doesn't work for me as I'm not going to go out and register an Internet domain. Regardless, I don't remember any other ad, so I vote none of the above.

In the OP you ask which was one's favorite. Your poll asks "Which commercial made you want that product now?" They are not the same question, and for me, no answer on the poll is accurate, as I would say "None."

I don't want any of the products.

I voted "other". I loved the Cars.com commercial with the prodigy who performed open heart surgery with a ballpoint pen, but was scared to shop for a car. CLASSIC, and a great marketing tool, appealing to something in everyone.

CCRob should lighten up just a little bit on Danica. Everyone says they want to be just a )_______________ (kournikova said she wanted to be remembered for being a tennis player; Gulbis says she wants to be a golfer. Both will sign their latest bikini calendar for a fee). Is it 2 faced? Maybe. But welcome to the world of the 21st century athlete. And the 20th century athlete as well.

The Clydesdale ads were the best in my book.. I think there were three.. the horse fetching the stick.. the great granddaddy.. .and then the horse chasing the circus to get his girlfriend... I thought it was smart to have a horse theme... spread throughout the game.. .

I also liked the cars.com comm.

I Tivo'd the game, so I only saw a few of the commercials. Most of them looked lame. I did like the Troy Polomalu one for Coke, though.

This is the first time ever I've posted here in Sports and it feels strange - it is probably the last time, too, but I noticed the thread's topic. I did not watch the game, but there was a letter to the Wash Post published today in which a man said he deplored the adolescent "male fantasy" ads showing women and lingerie since he was watching TV with his 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter. He asked why these kind of ads must be shown; he thought they went too far.

Are the ads like this worse than previous Superbowls?

I thought it had to have been the worst Super Bowl for ads I had ever seen
However, the game itself was actually pretty exciting :)
