I would love to see Carolina win it all, just because I want the NFC South champion as Super Bowl champ. But here's how I think it plays out:

Ya know, it's tough to be a Vikings fan. I've been a fan since I was a kid, but my friends all dislike me for no longer being a homer for the team. They're simply not very good. They don't have good players. Their GM is incompetent. Their superstar running back is a serial adulterer/fornicator and a child beater.
They actually had a guy on sports talk radio last week saying QB Teddy Bridgewater reminds them of Aaron Rodgers. The love affair with Teddy is incredible.
Before the season started I predicted a 7-9 record and that was assuming Adrian Peterson would have played the whole season. All my friends had them going to the playoffs. They ended up 7-9 anyway. They did not beat one team with a winning record.
So, while I watch the Vikings games and follow the team, I'm no defender of the franchise.
If asked, I usually say that I am a Vikings fan to annoy the locals. It is Green Bay or nothing if one lives in NE Wisconsin.
Frankly, though I will watch a game and get mildly into it, the sport that I still follow is soccer (still seems strange to call it by that name). Old habits.
Gutsy win by Romo and the boys. I want this so bad for him. Romo is a guy that has been downed by even his own fanbase for so long that it was great to see him really step up and lead this team this year. I don't think the defense is quite ready for this Cowboy team to be a considered a serious contender and expect the fun to end in Green Bay next weekend.
Next year should look good considering the return of Sean Lee, Justin Durant and hopefully an NFL 1st round pick ready to play on the D-Line. Call me crazy but I actually hope they give Suh a call.

Well, I'm out. I let my heart dictate my choice here, going with my second favorite team (I'm partial to my hometown Falcons, but I do adore the Steelers). I know they got a pick-up-the-flag PI call in their favor, but watch out for Dallas. They're a dangerous team.

I have been stating my prediction this week that the Seattle defense will knock Rodgers out of the game, probably in the first half. Sometimes, however, it's not a 'tragedy' for a team to lose its starting QB, even a big star, per se; because the opponent must prepare for that big star, and when he is replaced with another with a very different style of play, that preparation is not so adequate.
I will freely own that I have never liked Green Bay, and I 'm one who has an ancient grudge, from the age of 8, against that team that tortured my Dallas Cowboys with frostbite, then worse with a loss in the last 16 seconds. But I stopped being that much of a Cowboys fan when they became the Jerry Jones Cowboys. But hate must last longer in sports, because I never stopped hating GB, Washington, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco. And I do think it's pathetic the rule that disallowed Dez Bryant's catch last Sunday.
Nevertheless, my SB pick is........New England over Seattle.

If the Patriots make it to another Super Bowl I will watch ice skating, curling, frost forming on my picture window, table tennis, water polo or take up crocheting.
Anything but the Patriots is fine by me. I want to see Richard Sherman pick off Tom Brady eight times in the Super Bowl.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The NFL is investigating whether the New England Patriots used under-inflated footballs in Sunday’s AFC championship game win against the Indianapolis Colts.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed the investigation to USA TODAY Sports. It was first reported late Sunday night by Indianapolis television station WHTR’s Bob Kravitz.
An under-inflated football would be easier to grip, and therefore easier to throw and catch, especially in adverse weather conditions, as was the case Sunday night in Foxborough, where heavy rain pounded Gillette Stadium throughout the second half.

The NFL is investigating the Patriots to see if they had any part in the foul weather system at Gillette Stadium. Foul Weather would benefit a team that played it's home games out doors, without a retractable roof.
