The NFL is now investigating the Patriots to see what influence they had in coercing the Indianapolis' Colts to install a retractable roof.

Oh please. Yeah. 45-7 because of under-inflated footballs.

The Colts did not show up.

Yes, the Colts got pasted. No, underinflated footballs were not the reason. But, it does make me wonder about Belli-Cheat. If this turns out to be true why is he frequently looking for a questionable edge when approaching big games?

Wouldn't be surprised to hear that this story is planted and isanother one of the Pat's constant mind games to psych out Seattle.

At some point in the game yesterday, the refs switched out a "kicking ball" with a "scrimmage ball" and made a big point of doing so on national tv, so I wonder if that's where this "sportswriter" got the idea for this. He talks about how this has been done before in some college game years ago but ignores that someone accused the Oilers kicker of tampering with the football like this and that Bum Philips replied that you could inflate the football with water and he'd still kick it 60 yards.

Had nothing to do with the game but it's always something with the Patriots isn't it. Just get your guys ready to play football Bill, they are good enough.

Well, it turns out that the balls were found to be underinflated at halftime:

but then it was corrected and after the half the Pats outscored them 28-0. The better team won in any event.

The fact is that the Patriots cheated. Eleven of the twelve balls were found to be underinflated after referees had declared them to be within specs. That means someone on the Patriots deflated the balls after the referees cleared them for game use. So they cheated.

Maybe they ought to change the way that handle these footballs in the future.

Yes, you are right - the Patriots did cheat, but they didn't *have to* cheat to win but if Bellicheat can cheat, he will, regardless <---Seahawks fan, former 49er fan.

Great game twixt the birds and the cheese heads. But New England was simply unstoppable.

I agree that the deflated footballs didn't beat the Colts, but it's the spirit of the game that was violated, imo. 11 outta 12 NE footballs were deflated, whereas 0 of the Colts were....can't blame that on the weather....
