Super Bowl

Just watched it on tape. The Eagles could have won the game. Three interceptions and poor clock management were devestating.

 

just finished it. well done NE! defense on both sides was masterful, the Patriots put that 10 point lead up, in a way Vinatieris FG won the game, because it put the Eagles 2 scores behind. Well done though! (pats fan, BTW, we are with BWM)

 

I like a defensive match. I was surprised at the errors made on both sides offensively though.

 

I really liked the Eagles last touchdown. Great play. It was exciting actually being able to watch a game. Last NFL game i watched was the Super Bowl when the Broncos with John Elway played the Packers with Brett Favre of course.

 

Well, I'm glad to see all of you speaking so well of the Eagles' effort yesterday. I predicted it would be by a field goal, but of course the other way.

Everyone here has nothing but good things to say about Owens, and everyone is roasting McNabb. T.O. is sticking up for him, though.

In my frustration yesterday, I called McNabb the "new Mitch Williams" concerning his time-wasting as the clock wound down. Maybe he was just too nervous, maybe he didn't realize how little time was left. If they hadn't wasted the time, they could have at least tied it up. But, there's always next year. They didn't go down in disgrace, that's for sure.

 

I was very impressed with the Eagles. They are a great team. I'd probably blame the coach for the poor time management, not so much McNabb. T.O. was sensational. What a warrior!

 

I like defense too. I was impressed with the Eagles' run defense. Dillon only got 75 yards, I think. The Patriots were rather sloppy in the first half.

 

I'm thrilled with the Patriots win. I got a little nervous at times last night. The Eagles are a very good team.

 

I'm just glad we got to watch it - first time it many years. Enjoyed it, even with the result .

 

And Terrel Owens is a class act.

The issues you have with McNabb should fall directly at the feet of Coach Reid. He is the leader of the team and should have taken care of it.

 

I can understand the roasting of McNabb, not only for clock management, but also the interception he threw to Bruschi with about 4 to 5 minutes left in the game. That was a killer INT. Also, David Akers kicked the worst onside kick I've seen in a long time. Finally, credit the Patriots special teams for a great job pinning the Iggles at the 4 with 0:46 to go.

Pretty good game even if it was sloppy. I would say it was sloppy offense because the defenses were really bringing it throughout the game.

 

There's another Christian forum site where people think that the Eagles threw the game due to big money, mafia, vegas, etc.

The way the Eagles played that fourth quarter I wonder if they're right. That clock management was horrible.

I am sick to death of the "team first" attitude of the Patriots. I mean, it's the way it should be but it comes across as artificial with them. Even when asked in an interview if they are a dynasty now the guy says "we don't say that, you say that". It just seems fake, I'm tired of it. I'm off my soapbox now. Football's over and there is no hockey...what will I do?

 

Never have liked T.O. But WOW what an effort. Unless he had an outstanding liability insurance policy going on then he risked everything for the chance to help his team. Might have to rethink my perception of him.

 

It's definitely not insincere. You're just not used to seeing unselfish professional players. They really believe that stuff. I understand their wives tease them about being in a Bellichick cult and drinking the coolaid.

I heard today that McNabb was sick during the game and was throwing up in the third quarter. Have you heard anything in Philly about this?

Of course I have also heard stories of players throwing up before the SuperBowl due to nerves.

 

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Hank Fraley said on an interview on Comcast that McNabb was sick in the huddle and, in one huddle, Freddie Mitchell had to call the play. Check the sports page at www.philly.com for the article. I'll be interested to see if more details about this come out tomorrow.

Yep! He was interviewed on local channel 10 last night and denied it. That does not necessarily mean that it isn't true, though.

 

Mitch was so cool. First pitch in the dirt, second pitch one that nobody in the history of baseball could touch, third pitch over the backstop.
