Wow, this one is going to sound different coming from me... :laugh:
Having grown up in DC, and still having lots of friends and family there, I can understand the desire of the DC government to curb the sale of hand guns in one of the most violent cities in America.
With that said, this is a far better decision than many the SC has made recently.

Well, the ban on handguns hasn't actually done anything to help the situation. There are annually more murders there since the ban than there were before the ban, while the murder rate has generally dropped everywhere else.Tom Bryant said:

Actually, while there are plenty of privately owned weapons, we also have a lot of hunting outfitters, & gun ranges, so the numbers are a little skewed.....

Note that they also clarified that requiring trigger locks was unconstitutional! That was an important part of the case.
This doesn't end the gun control problem because citizens are still excessively limited in their ability to possess a weapon when traveling around the country and still must have a permit for concealed carry.
It was a close decision and the liberal members voted just as expected. The Court is still out of control and, overall, a big danger to the citizens.
