After all these years of eroding the Constitution, I doubt there is anything really left of it. The notsoSupreme Court has so twist and perverted it, that it is almost not worth the paper it is written on.

But since most of the complaints one hears are from conservatives (and/or reactionaries) lamenting how this or that supposedly "conservative" justice turned out in practice to be a cryptocommie or something, maybe you should be hoping a "moderate" or even a "liberal" will be appointed and will turn out to be the mirror image of the ones that have so disappointed you. (There's a term for this approach, much cited in day-care center training, what is it now... reverse psychology?)

I realize that your post is not really designed to present facts but to get an emotional response, but I think it is important to point out the inaccuracies in your statement.

Only state-sponsored prayer has officially ceased in our public schools. Students are allowed to pray silently during official time (who can stop them?!) and vocally with others during free periods as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others.

The Bible has not been removed from schools. Students may carry their Bibles, read their Bibles during free periods and check Bibles out of their school libraries.

Any deviations from these positions is likely due to the illegal actions of local administrators or teachers who are acting in violation of the Constitution and the Supreme Court decisions.

Not going to argue that one.

The refusal to make something illegal is not the same as placing a “national stamp of approval” upon an activity.

BaptistBeliever, We will have to disagree. When the notsoSupreme Court speaks, it does dictate the way the country is going. It does put a "stamp of approval" on what God and our forefathers says is wrong.

JUDGEMENT IS UPON US FOR OUR SINS AS A NATION.

She will retire this year (perhaps) along with Rhenquist and Bush will make his mark in history as being able to appoint two true conservatives to the bench.

    Dr. Bob:
I hope so, but looking at what this Senate is doing to The Presidents' lower court appointees-
get ready for World War III!
