Surrounded by Baby Sprinklers

Hi, I’m Emily. I grew up near Seattle, WA. I’m a millennial, but my dad was born in '44 and went to the Lord just this year. I’m a homeschooling mom, my husband and I have been blessed with ten years of marriage. This is the heart of my days, but part of the job is reading and writing notes.
“The greatest blessing that parents can convey to their children is to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
– Benjamin Keach

I studied theology at a Reformed-influenced liberal arts college in Idaho. While I’m a Particular Baptist, I currently worship with an OPC congregation, I've been a member since I finished my Masters. Sometimes my views align more closely with the Gospel Standard or, my father's favorite Herman Hoeksema.
“Sound doctrine is the life of faith, the nourishment of hope, and the support of love.”
– John Gill

I have no interest in ‘debate’ in the internet, though I am interested in a variety of perspectives. I stopped writing real essays when I finished my university days, but I might post some of the notes for home catechism on my blogspot. Right now it's just a list of books and websites I like.

Welcome, Emily!

Love to see you quote John Gill, as I reference his Bible commentary and his A Body of Doctrinal Divinity when discussing the gospel of Christ.

Also, glad to see you mention The Gospel Standard, as one of the tabs that come up when I open my browser is a website of his sermons.

As a Particular Baptist, you might be interested in the website of the church I attend: Grace Baptist of Ruston - Online Audio And Video Sermons

Gill is the most influential theological influence on me, with Geerhardus Vos and Herman Hoeksema.

Hi, I’m Emily.
Glad to have you on board. No requirement to EVER post or join a debate/discussion - that part of free will we all agreed on. :)

Love homeschooling. All my children were homeschooled for 7-12 grade, and both sons ordained Baptist pastors. Trust you will find some of your time here will be an encouragement to you spiritually and beneficial to your family.

I use Gill's Commentary in a lot of the Bible study we do outside of church. I like Calvin and Sproul, too.

Call me old fashioned, but I do like having the physical commentaries even though many are available for free online. I have my eye open for the 8 volume Gill commentary set. Not sure why they are so hard to come by. For around the same price I have looked at Calvin’s commentaries but it’s a 22 volume set! I don’t have enough shelf space. Sorry Johnny! :Roflmao

I grew up using Kindle. I prefer it to physical books.
