SWBTS repents of its mistreatment of former president Adam Greenway

Southwestern Seminary welcomes back Greenway, his portrait will be displayed with that of Dockery’s outside Truett Auditorium

"'We want to welcome back to the Southwestern campus the ninth president,' said President David S. Dockery....'Everyone in the room is aware of the challenges of the past seven years, but it’s our hope today that this will be a genuine step toward living out our grace filled core values and the exhortations from the Apostle Paul found in Romans chapter 12....We pray today for the Lord’s divine blessings on Adam and Carla Greenway'."

In addition to current and former faculty and staff, "invited guests included...seminary trustees, representatives of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and the pastoral staff of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church in Avon Park, Fla., home congregation of the Greenway family".

A magnanimous address by Dr. Greenway.
He recalls how he'd wanted to welcome back former president Russell Dilday to the seminary, but the pandemic intervened.

I actually met Dr. Greenway once and even enjoyed the sermon he preached that evening, and the talk we had afterwards. But I was disappointed by his not being able to articulate the qualifications of a pastor at the SBC annual meeting a few years ago.
