I agree totally with you. I will not allow anyone to attack what I TRULY believe is the Word of God for the english speaking people. I will not compromise on my stance or beliefs. Please understand that I was not framing this towards you or any others on the board. I just think it is a shame that we cannot just go out and preach the whole gospel of our Lord Jesus without someone wanting to label a group due to their stance on the KJV bible.

I wish I could attend this also. These are some excellent preachers as I have heard a few of them preach over the years.

    *sigh*

No one's attacking the King James Version. Many don't agree that it's the only valid English version.

That ain't attacking. Most posters, me included, have spoken very highly of the KJV. I don't attack it. It's a wonderful version.

I agree I did start to ramble a bit didn't I. Sorry about that. :tonofbricks:

My two cents - The publication has not officially (in publication print) sponsored this meeting, although it is ok with me if they do. But the majority of SWOTL members do lean towards this stance.

One more thing, please pray for us at Bethany Baptist Church as we go out soul winning tonight. Especially for a gentleman by the name of Carlos, he says he is not saved and this will be my third visit with him. I believe the Lord is dealing with him. Pray for the sweet Holy Ghost to rain conviction upon his soul. :praying:

So sorry C4K... you will never find that page!

It does get cheaper if you get a 2 or 3 year subscription. And of course there's always the Lifetime Subscription!

I'm sure some of the messages will run in the Sword.

Really when it comes down to it the most important Bible version is the one folks see you living out every day. :)

It's the KJB not the KJV by any true standard, that is what's behind the SOTL conference to inform those pastors and preachers so they all may know it.

I agree, but it does leave you open game for some harsh scrutiny. It's just a shame it's performed by so many of our brothers and sisters.

If I messed up, I would find more mercy from the non-church crowd when I am supposed to be restored by my church family.

Another discussion, but the SOTL is on the right track to let the already established word of God be promoted rather than demoted.

I have heard that Bro. Jeremy Smith did a great job recently on a message about the Bible.

I hope this Scripture Text Conference will present "the whole story" instead of just the part of the story that is usually found in KJV-only articles and books.

What part of the "story" is most commonly left out in such conferences and/or books?

There are NO MISSING VERSES in the NIV.
Every verse in the KJVs has a similiar
verse in the NIV. I've checked lots of what some
people say are missing verses in the NIV
and every one of them is in my copy of the NIV.

What is missing from the story is that
while comentary footnotes are NOT part
of the scripture. Cross reference (bible verses
only) footnotes or center column notes are
not scripture -- but usually are the best type
of non-scriputre -- they get you to read the
Bible more. The notes that are part of
the scripture is the translator notes.
Translator notes seem gone missing from
many Bible stories. What do translator notes mean?

Here is the link to read it free...
It is not every issue, but it does change rather frequently...

    I hope this helps...

And here is their official stand on the Bible...

    The Holy Scriptures
    WE BELIEVE
the Bible, the Scriptures of the Old Testament and the New Testament, preserved for us in the Masoretic text (Old Testament) Textus Receptus (New Testament) and in the King James Bible, is verbally and plenarily inspired of God. It is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and altogether authentic, accurate and authoritative Word of God, therefore the supreme and final authority in all things (II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21; Rev. 22:18-19).

I would say they are KJVP, and TR, MT only

I know they are KJBP for only some, the rest are KJB only. Or didn't I already tell you that!

(Salamander gently slaps tiny in the face several times with Hi'Karate and says. "Wake up!"):wavey:

I see what you're talking about. That download is for the sole purpose of an example copy. So many people call the sword wanting sample copies we can just direct them there. It helps us with shipping cost and they get to see it quicker, thus subscribing sooner.

I think that was started around 2002 or 2003 when my husband was webmaster. It certainly helps us on our end!

It is disrespectful to stand on your Bible.
From the info already presented in this thread, we should be able to predict with fair accuracy what will be said. There's nothing new in this debate.

Of course, I'd be tickled pink to hear them discuss the problems with the Hebrew texts of 1 and 2 Chronicles, since they know "the whole story," but something tells me they won't have time for dumb stuff like that . . .

It's official. I booked a meeting to preach south of Chattanooga Wednesday the 16th and then the pastor and I will attend the conference Thursday and Friday. I'm looking forward to it.

That's wonderful! Make sure to stop by the Sword while you're in town. We give free tours at the Sword and it's an awesome sight to see the presses running! We'd love to have you!

Wish I could go with you, Bob. :love2:

It must have been about 30 years ago when we first subscribed to the SOTL! :saint:
