Tebow -vs- Sam: What a Crock of Media Bias

What a shame .... we live in a country, and world, that glorifies the conduct of Mr. Sam, BUT vilifies the conduct of Tim Tebow!

Does this not demonstrate the slide toward glorification of sin in our media? This is why I watch very little television any more! And maybe why, more of us should do the same.

Now ... let me share why the Rams drafted Sam! It wasn't because of his athleticism ... he was near the very end of the draft; However, if it is true that the Rams return to LA, having an openly g&% player will be a big draw on the growing g&% population, and g&% sympathizers, to support the Rams! After all, the new stadium will be only miles from North Hollywood, which is San Francisco South!

You maybe on to something. I'm from the St. Louis area, and I say goodbye Rams if so. This Sam thing has turned my stomach all week. I cannot get this cake smeared image out of my head. It's like a bad song that keeps replaying in my head...lol

Seriously though. Look where our country is taking us. 2-5% of population is LGBTQLMNOP. Whatever! But you would think 30% are this way from the way our wonderful media promotes their agenda. Our schools promote it as normal. If you make a stand you are a homophobe. Look what happened to Tebow and the Boy Scouts. Now we have Hallmark cards for lesbian mothers. My Air Force where I served for 34 years now is all about accepting this lifestyle but don't mention Christ or put scripture on your dorm door. I have seen what happens. We can go to a Squadron picnic and watch two male or female Airmen kiss each other and have to explain that to our children. At the same picnic do not try to bring up a discussion of Jesus or pray in His name. You will get taken aside and asked to stop.

.... that concerns me! It is his off-field play and the role model the media is making of him and other pro athletes that have come out!

Personally, I think they need to start a separate league for gays like they did for women wanting to play tackle football! But, that will never happen! Still, I'd not want Sam tackling me, especially in or around the groin area of my body! It creeps me out, and like SS, it turns my stomach!

Still, it is a sign of the times, and we'd all better get used to it. Between giving illegal immigrants citizenship, glorifying gays and marriage, selling pot, this country is more like Rome and less like what it was meant to be. But, I'm sure there are those who will disagree with me!

Actually, He was co-winner with C.J. Mosley who was picked 17th. So, the record still stands.

The simple fact is, he was ranked 263 out of 268 players at the NFL combine. It was a complete disaster. And the rule of football came true again. College stats mean absolutely nothing when it comes to the pro game. He simply does not have the physical skill set needed to transfer from college to pro. At most he was destined to be a second string special teams player. The Big-12 Defensive Players of the year have a similar record as the SEC. This seasons winner, Jackson Jeffcoat, didn't get drafted at all. He had to sign as a, undrafted free agent with Seattle.

Another problem for any team interested in him, if they drafted him, then cut him because he indeed cannot cut it in the NFL, then all the crybabies would be screaming it was only because he was gay.

If he is as bad a player as is implied he'll be riding the bench at best.

You are correct about one thing - the NFL is all about making money, but isn't that what the American economy is built on? What is wrong with that?

That's what that population claims. The evidence is that it is much lower, less than one percent. They certainly do make a lot of a noise for such a small group, don't they?

It is as I said the other day when Sam was drafted so late. They can claim all the polls say the players are ready or whatever, they lie.

The players aren't going to answer a poll question in such a way that makes their union look bad in the eyes of the liberal world that helps support unions. The bottom line is, the locker room isn't ready for an openly gay player. No locker room truly is, and I doubt it is going to be any time soon.

The mother of a highly recruited football player at my church is in my Sunday school class. Her son visited a Division I school last fall on a group visiting day. There were about 100 top-echelon recruits there. The mother of one openly asked how a young man of an "alternate sexual orientation" would be treated and accepted. Of course, she was told he would be welcomed.

The young man remains unsigned by anyone today. He has "inexplicably" fallen out of the top 100 recruits in the country. Gee, go figure.

He's pegged as a "tweener", too light to play in the line with the big boys, too slow to cover TEs and RBs as linebackers are supposed to. However, he's said to have a nose for the ball, especially when it's held by the QB, so might have NFL value as a situational pass rusher.

IMO, Tim Tebow also got more media attention than his talent warranted, though that string of amazing comebacks was definitely newsworthy. (I think his testimony and Christian walk to be even more newsworthy, but wouldn't expect the world to agree.) The biggest difference I see is that mainstream media coverage of Tebow was highly polarized, and with many more being critical than complimentary, whereas Sams (and the Rams) have gotten about 99.99% high praise ftrom the media. II Timothy 4 (and other scriptures) show us we should not be surprised.

You've been reading bloggers like "The Nation" which obviously doesn't know diddly-squat about the NFL. The statements I read in their blog indicate it was written by someone who barely knows the NFL plays on CBS and FOX every Sunday during the day.

Being a " 'tweener" in the NFL draft has nothing to do with size or talent. It means a player is on the board at two different positions, and is not stellar at either one but is well worth a 3nd or 4th round choice, not a tail-end-of-the-draft choice. In Sam's case, he was considered light for a linebacker, but too heavy to play DB, though both were "doable." Putting some weight on him and playing him as a third-down pass rusher appealed to a lot of teams. In January, Sam was slotted by Kiper and other analysts as a late 2nd round choice. After he "came out," he suddenly fell to fourth or early fifth round.

Tell me how that happens, unless teams are concerned about how he will be accepted in the locker room?

One, it is "Sam" -- singular.

Two, the media has no say in his performance or his acceptance in the locker room. The media is chock full of liberal bias, even in the sports department. Of course they're going to praise the Rams. Being from Missouri, knowing St. Louis is heavily blue collar and Catholic, I doubt they have a whole lot of praise going on for the Rams for creating what is going to be a media circus and debacle for their team.
