Ted Cruz Going on ObamaCare

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) — Just hours after Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told CNN that he had no choice but to sign up for Obamacare, President Barack Obama signed an executive order making Cruz ineligible for coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

“Clearly, the hardship of receiving Obamacare was causing Ted a great deal of pain,” the President said. “This should take care of that.”

Obama acknowledged that the executive order, which makes Cruz the only American expressly forbidden from signing up for Obamacare, was an extraordinary measure, but added, “I felt it was a necessary humanitarian gesture to protect Ted from the law he hates.”

Even as he signed the order, the President said that he was “torn” about barring Cruz from coverage, stating,”He’s definitely someone who would benefit from seeing a doctor.”

In an official statement released later in the day, Cruz blasted the executive order and accused Obama of distorting his position on Obamacare: “I never said I didn’t want to have it. I said I didn’t want everyone else in the country to have it.”

If Obamacare is as bad as Cruz wanted us to believe it was and he was willing to filibuster about it ... they why is it that he is willing to sign up now? When push comes to shove even Cruz wants health insurance. He may not want it for others, but he wants it for himself and his family.

Borowitz is funny and he is not malicious. I emailed him years ago that he was the best and he emailed me back and thanked me, which was a surprise to me.

Because at the end of the day, he and a lot of the other AFA detractors know that the exchange is actually quite useful for folks who don't have or haven't had insurance.

They just don't like that Obama actually did something where all they've done is talk about doing something.

You hens would be squawking if he left his family off of any insurance, too.

Zaac, just can't keep yourself out of the peanut gallery.

ITL, funny stuff.

Of course he wants insurance for his family. It's complete idiocy to believe he doesn't. It's something worse than idiocy to believe he wants to keep others from having insurance. It's just too bad it has to be the exhorbitantly priced, and often inferior products offered under Obamacare.

Even worse for the millions of people who lost the insurance they liked and had to replace it with a one size fits all product at a much higher cost under obamacare...or pay a John Roberts "tax" to have nothing at all.

He filibustered trying to prevent millions of uninsured Americans from having health insurance. There is his hypocrisy. If he wants it for his family and himself he should realize that all Americans need health insurance and he should support having all Americans having health insurance.

See folks this is the dishonesty of the liberal agenda. If you do not want to do it their way then they work to paint you in an extreme and very untruthful manner. Like this statement made above that implies Cruz is against "all American having health insurance". Here are the problems with it:

1. It cannot be proven
2. Is a political tool to unnecessarily raise emotions
3. Is talking points put out by the DNC
4. Is in fact not true by any standard

Further there is no hypocrisy. While this claim is just as dishonest as the other it in fact has the exact same problems already listed.

It's nothing but hypocrisy.

I bet his wife, like most folks once they get a little older, has a pre-existing condition and would have had a hard time getting coverage at a decent rate if not through the exchange.

He did no such thing.

Look in the mirror if you want to see real hypocrisy.

Guess you forgot, so read again. He did not want insurance for others, but does for himself. Rather hypocritical I'd say.

Senators from both parties linked arms to defy Sen. Ted Cruz, overcoming his attempt to filibuster the stopgap spending bill, which allowed Democrats to add back in full funding for Obamacare and power the bill through the chamber and sending it back to the House.

I didn't forget.

Your lying about his reasons is the problem.

Yes, you forgot or are you simply trying to publish misinformation.

Cruz also said, I
“speak in support of defunding Obamacare until I am no longer able to stand.”

I guess he wants medical insurance through Obamacare until he can stand longer and continue to attempt to stop funding to Oamacare, his own medical insurance. Now that is not rational. But who said politicians are rational?

He's experiencing what so many people in the GOP need to experience. A lot of people in the GOP don't believe there is a need for certain things or they won't believe things are a certain way until those things happen to them first hand.

To buy insurance when you've got a pre-existing condition can make for some very hefty premiums. Guess they found this out.

With the AFA, those pre-existing conditions don't affect your costs as they would if you tried to get insurance outside the exchange.

Guess they are proverbially getting to walk a mile in someone else's shoes

Do you just make everything up?

Everyone has an opinion on everything I suppose - but come on.

At least base it on some sort of fact base and not just pure speculation.

The only thing I speculated was the pre-existing condition and the cost to get coverage outside the exchange. Otherwise, to avoid the appearance of hypocrisy and the conversations people are now having, he could have just paid for the private coverage.

There really couldn't be too many other reasons for him to use the AFA after what he has said.

Perhaps he is signing up for Obamacare so that he can talk from personal experience about how horrible it is.

Or perhaps it is so that when he works to repeal Obamacare as President dems/libs can't say it's because he isn't on Obamacare and therefore care about people who are or that he doesn't know how wonderful it is because he didn't try it.

Or perhaps it's to call more attention to his throwing his name into the ring.

So it looks like you really don't know the true reason.

And since you don't know, your witness of hypocrisy can only be FALSE since you cannot give a true witness to the situation.

Then he could have said that. My speculation seems much more reasonable than yours. He regardless, still looks like a hypocrite.

Naah. I'm sticking with the pre-existing condition. If it were this, he could have come off his wife's insurance and gone through the exchange a long time ago to do this.

Or perhaps it's to call more attention to his throwing his name into the ring.

Nope.

So it looks like you really don't know the true reason.

Note I didn't say that I did.

And since you don't know, your witness of hypocrisy can only be FALSE since you cannot give a true witness to the situation.

My witness of hypocrisy has nothing to do with his reasons for using ACA. He looks like a hypocrite because he's now trying to use the very thing he was trying to get rid of.
