Ted Cruz Going on ObamaCare

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) — Just hours after Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told CNN that he had no choice but to sign up for Obamacare, President Barack Obama signed an executive order making Cruz ineligible for coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

“Clearly, the hardship of receiving Obamacare was causing Ted a great deal of pain,” the President said. “This should take care of that.”

Obama acknowledged that the executive order, which makes Cruz the only American expressly forbidden from signing up for Obamacare, was an extraordinary measure, but added, “I felt it was a necessary humanitarian gesture to protect Ted from the law he hates.”

Even as he signed the order, the President said that he was “torn” about barring Cruz from coverage, stating,”He’s definitely someone who would benefit from seeing a doctor.”

In an official statement released later in the day, Cruz blasted the executive order and accused Obama of distorting his position on Obamacare: “I never said I didn’t want to have it. I said I didn’t want everyone else in the country to have it.”

Borowitz is funny and he is not malicious. I emailed him years ago that he was the best and he emailed me back and thanked me, which was a surprise to me.

Because at the end of the day, he and a lot of the other AFA detractors know that the exchange is actually quite useful for folks who don't have or haven't had insurance.

They just don't like that Obama actually did something where all they've done is talk about doing something.

Of course he wants insurance for his family. It's complete idiocy to believe he doesn't. It's something worse than idiocy to believe he wants to keep others from having insurance. It's just too bad it has to be the exhorbitantly priced, and often inferior products offered under Obamacare.

Even worse for the millions of people who lost the insurance they liked and had to replace it with a one size fits all product at a much higher cost under obamacare...or pay a John Roberts "tax" to have nothing at all.

Senators from both parties linked arms to defy Sen. Ted Cruz, overcoming his attempt to filibuster the stopgap spending bill, which allowed Democrats to add back in full funding for Obamacare and power the bill through the chamber and sending it back to the House.

I guess he wants medical insurance through Obamacare until he can stand longer and continue to attempt to stop funding to Oamacare, his own medical insurance. Now that is not rational. But who said politicians are rational?

He's experiencing what so many people in the GOP need to experience. A lot of people in the GOP don't believe there is a need for certain things or they won't believe things are a certain way until those things happen to them first hand.

To buy insurance when you've got a pre-existing condition can make for some very hefty premiums. Guess they found this out.

With the AFA, those pre-existing conditions don't affect your costs as they would if you tried to get insurance outside the exchange.

The only thing I speculated was the pre-existing condition and the cost to get coverage outside the exchange. Otherwise, to avoid the appearance of hypocrisy and the conversations people are now having, he could have just paid for the private coverage.

There really couldn't be too many other reasons for him to use the AFA after what he has said.

Or perhaps it is so that when he works to repeal Obamacare as President dems/libs can't say it's because he isn't on Obamacare and therefore care about people who are or that he doesn't know how wonderful it is because he didn't try it.

My witness of hypocrisy has nothing to do with his reasons for using ACA. He looks like a hypocrite because he's now trying to use the very thing he was trying to get rid of.
