Key Word Commentary is another that requires pay.

I believe you are righ, C4K. E-sword is the one I would go for if I did not have Bibleworks or Swordsearcher.

One thing I like about SwordSearcher is the ability to copy verses by just right clicking on them as opposed to having to highlight them first.

The SwordSearcher belongs to my wife. I own the Bibleworks

have just finished downloading the last of the files available for free for e-Sword (excluding the 6 Calvinist ones in the STEP section).

Of all the downloads available, only the three I mentioned above are pay addons.

Here is a quote from the KJV1611 Edition
that blows the socks off the Devil:

of the Church.

Sidenote: +Gr. of spirits.

In other words, the second best source
of the Greek New Testament that the
translators of the KJV had read:

One of the best methods for understanding a particular verse is to compare the various translations.

The argument of "begotten" vs "unique" vs "one and only" should illustrate that fact well. Any one of those terms could conceivably leave an honest Bible student with a false impression. If all three are considered as LEGITIMATE English translations of the word... one can discern the fuller meaning of the Greek word. You learn to look for what they share and how they compliment each other rather than forcing a disagreement between them.

You stand in disagreement with the translators... as well as anyone who advocates lexicons, interlinears, or clarifications of meanings based on original language texts.

BTW, I didn't mention interpretation. Scripture certainly does interpret scripture.... It does not however clarify the definitions of English words that do not quite provide an exact equivalent to the Greek word, ie "begotten".

For young students, I think we can recommend them to search the Recylcle Book stores too. I bought a nice Hebrew Lexicon which details even etymology for Hebrew and Aramaic, at 10 Dollars which were never used before, and Textus Receptus at 5 Dollars, a big King James Version for Pulpit at 2 Dollars.
They can search the Used Book stores by simply asking whether they have Bibles. They will tell them. Young students can compare between KJV and NIV, KJV and RV, KJV and NASB, Darby and HCSB,
then reason what are the differences, what are the spiritual gains and losses from various versions, what are the controversial issues, what are the background from the supporting texts and manuscripts. Which group of people have preserved those texts and manuscripts. Then eventually Holy Spirit will guide them to the right direction. This is the way how the people of Berea received the Word with all readiness of mind and searched the Scriptures daily.
In that way many great Christian believers and workers will arise.
Of course, KJV has been always the center of all the discussions and controversies, and I believe many great Christian believers have referred to it when they wrote the books and when they preached the gospel.

There are many good reasons why a solid Baptist College would (and in my opinion, should) only use the King James Bible, especially for Preaching.

Consider this: Why is it that the people who promote newer translations of the Bible promote EVERY version EXCEPT the King James Bible?

I was not raised in a Christian home. My parents didn't take me to Church, or teach me anything about God, Jesus, or the Bible.

As a young man, I searched for years to find which religion contained the Truth. I looked into many of the religions of the world, and God led me to Christianity at the age of 25 when I was saved under the preaching of J. Vernon McGee.

Next, I prayed and asked God which christian denomination to follow, and he led me to be an Independent Fundamental Baptist at the age of 35.

Soon thereafter I ran into the first person who tried to tell me to get rid of the King James Bible and go to some other version. Rather than listen to them, I prayed and asked God which Bible most accurately contained His Word, and He told me to stick with my King James Bible. At the age of 40 He called me to preach. I've preached the King James Bible ever since, and I have no doubt I do so with the absolute blessing of God. God has led me too far, and been too good to me, for me to believe he has given me the wrong Bible.

My advice: Stick with the King James and you'll never go wrong. But don't just take my word. Do as I did and ask God. And when He answers, be faithful to what He tells you.

Begotten means 'only born'. When a translation takes away from the virgin birth by saying one and only, or unique, I do have a problem with it.

To say one and only implies that God did not have other sons while the Old Testament actually refutes that in 5 verses.

The translation one and only could be interpreted as God just sent His full grown Son to earth and never was virgin born.

Unique implies the same thing.

If the word begotten actually meant one and only or unique as the modern translations imply, then the past tense, begat would have to mean the same thing. Yet, we see many of the patriarch's begetting many children.

Thanks for your advice. That can be a good way to find the True Bible.
When I started to read KJV, I realized I wasted too long time with faulty bibles and KJV is the most accurate translation.

I hear this criticism often, and modern versions DO call Mary a virgin in many places, so that argument is null and void.

My interpretation on " the only Begotten" and " the only and one"

If a father had 2 sons, one died of an accident, the remaining becomes " the only and one" son.

When a father had only one son from the beginning and never had any other son, then the only son is called " the Only Begotten"

Jesus was born by Holy Spirit befor he came out of Mary. This means that Jesus was bogotten by God and was begotten into a human body by Holy Spirit.
If you read Mt 1:20 carefully, you can find that Jesus was born already(gennao), before he was born out of Mary. (Tiktaw)

And as I said, God did have more than one son according to Job 1 and Job 2. But Jesus was the Only begotten, the only born on this earth.

Eliyahu, can you clarify that last post, please?
