I watch The History Channel, Animal Planet, Weather Channel, USA (Monk), and the news, but mostly I watch The Hallmark Channel.
They have reruns of Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Perry Mason, Matlock, Columbo, and other 'oldies but goodies'.
They also have some very good original family movies. It is the closest I've come to finding a 'family' channel.

Very, very rarely now. Some news. Sometimes a little Animal Planet. Mostly, when we rarely turn the thing on, it is to watch a favorite video/CD. We have the "Keeping Up Appearances" seasons 1 and 2 (an English comedy) and when we want to laugh, one of those is great, or one of the old Pink Panther movies. Those are the current favorites. But we turn it on maybe once a week.
Probably more in the winter. We got 'addicted' to Law and Order last winter for awhile! But life's pretty busy around here and summer is full of house guests.

Our only t.v. broke when we had 3 tiny kids. We did without for a few years but were just so busy that we were too tired to miss it.
I fall asleep to t.v. We love Monk also and there's a number of new shows coming on this fall that look good. I like NUMB3RS, which is opposite Monk but Monk only has a few episodes before they end for a while so....
Law and Order (all of them), CSI's but not Miami...

Anymore, I only watch the news, religious programming, and "This Old House". I can't stand the degradation of other programming...

Yes, I watch it some. Mainly DVD's, but there are a few shows I like. However, I am probably one of the worst consumers out there. I do not really watch any show regularly, and, depending on what is going on in my life, I often go weeks without even turning it on. I hope nobody is depending on my advertising dollars to keep them afloat.

There is so much junk on that I don't think has the right values. I don't want it on if my son is around, in particular. Many people underestimate what things kids will pick up I think even if they are only passively listening to the TV.
Other than the news, there are a few good shows. But mostly I watch Fox News, sports, and occasionally nature shows on PBS.

I used to be addicted to it. I spent many wasted years growing up glued to it. I have since learned how much of a time-waster it is, and have booted cable and network, television per se, out of our home. We will use it as a monitor for homeschooling programs, and the occasional feature. But with rearing two children, I prefer to spend as much direct "hands-on" time with my family as I can, while I can.
I watch TV very Rarly... I have a Computer I can watch DVDs on, so, this way I can pick and choose what and when I want to see it. Plus the Pause Button is a Really neat feature *tee hee*
When I think about it, anyone who is against watching TV should NOT be using one of these nasty ole computers. TV contains evil material, I agree, but the computer's evil is INTERACTIVE quite often, and is often labeled with an innocent name.

By the way, the lady who played "Rose" (the second actress to play her, not the first one) was a born again Christian, who used to have bible studies in her dressing room. Lots of people on the set would come to hear, as they all thought highly of her.
As for other TV, well the only things I might watch would be "vintage" movies (1930's-1950's), or vintage TV programs (1950's).
Modern television glorifies human depravity and is so full of violence and sex that I watch virtually none of it, except for perhaps turning on the news to catch the local headlines or a weather forecast.
I don't get good TV reception with an indoor antenna (and can't install an outdoor one where I live) so a few years ago I had a "minimal" cable service ($13 a month) so I could receive the networks channels (as I said, mainly for news programs). There were a few other cable channels thrown in the package, but I became so disgusted with the content of some of them. After one of the cable-only channels began showing "Southpark", I decided that I didn't want any part of my $13 going to pay for garbage like that (even one cent), so I cancelled my cable service.
There are a tiny, tiny handful of cable channels I might be interested in watching (such as the "History Channel), but I refuse to pay for the equivalent of a wheelbarrow of stinking garbage just to get 4 or 5 channels I might watch occasionally.
