Like the "peace dividend" at the "end" of the Cold War, every time the white dove sails, (Sorry, Youngbloods), mankind has a way of shooting him down, plucking his feathers, and having fried dove.

I think "Hamas" is Arabic for "Paint a Target on Me."

It is very sad day for Palestine. I though Abbas was a man who actually wanted peace but Hamas overthrowing his government is bad news.

This should be a warning to Pres. Bush that Democracy does not always lead to freedom but man in his natural depravity will often choose evil to reign over him. We have seen similar things in Egypt. Trying to convert people to Jeffersonian democracy who are used to Despots, Dictators, anti semitic leaders, and who do not respect the rights of others they disagree with is a difficult task.

The problem is, Bush doesn't understand Islam. He believes Islam is a peaceful religion like so many others do.

Actually, I will bet that Bush and his folks know the truth quite well, but if they were to say it openly, that would be a classic case of casting pearls before swine. Everyone from Cindy (Traitor) Sheehan to Ted (Aquaman) Kennedy, to the Anti Christian Lawyers Union would smear them as racists, with the help of our self-hating press.

It's a happy day for us who believe in a pre trib rapture. This will only make the peace treaty the antichrist signs that much more remarkable.

Why is everyone acting like this is something new? The Palestinian Authority started with a terrorist on top. That is all Arafat was. Now they have seen fit to put another terrorist organization in power.

More of the same. It is just degrees of bad, not a question of going from good to bad

Or make you that much more disappointed when your pre-trib rapture belief is proven wrong. [IMG]

Well, if the pre-trib rapture belief is wrong, then we will all be suffering through the Great Tribulation and we will be around when the AC comes to power and watch him break the peace treaty after 3-1/2 years.

At any rate, none of this makes me particularly happy, because I know there will be great horrible times coming that the earth has never known and the chances are exceedingly great that the US will be nuked off the planet.

On the other hand, to be absent from the body, even vaporized, is to be present with the Lord. I would prefer not to have my eyeballs eaten out by radioactivity while I'm alive, though.

Now I hope we can get back on topic once again.

    1) Not if your particular interpretation of the Great Tribulation is flawed as well.

    2) The chances of that happening are extremely small, if not zero.

It's premillennialists who keep tossing their eschatalogical opinions into news and politics threads.

Ken, with reference to eschatology, I have my views, but I long ago decided that I was not entitled to a spot on the "planning committee," and decided to take up an open slot on the "welcoming committee," and another one on the "recruiting committee."

As for Hamas, how about them cruise missles?
