    Just a thought:

Those living South of the Equator, if they had a "thanksgiving" it would be held around the end of April?

Do we have have any members "Down Under" that can enlighten us?

As far as in the US - if folks want to go to work at 6 pm on Thanksgiving night - AS LONG AS IT IS VOLUNTEER - fine, more power to them. BUT WAT DOES VOLUNTEER MEAN. Did the boss say - if you don't volunteer for Thanksgiving day, will will work every Sunday till Christmas - or some other ridiculous schedule.

If I owned a big box store (yea, right), my policy would be that all employees would be in at 1 O'clock !!! That would be 1 pm the day after Thanksgiving - for a 2 pm opening.
I would want my employees to enjoy their Turkey Day - (with a turkey provided by yours truly - Vegans, you would be out of luck )
