The fact is, Charlie, that we believe different gospels.

Yes, we agree on that.

I've always said that anyone who has their faith in the finished work of Christ is saved.

No matter what doctrine they believe.

God never required correct doctrine for salvation, He requires faith in His Son.

So the "saving yourself" thing should be off limits among us believers.

How can there be more than one gospel Ken?

Galatians 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

His prefect righteousness is only imputed to you when you have believed in Him for your salvation.

I have not read anything about the timing of imputation of Christ's righteousness. However, the subject might be similar to the discussions over the timing of justification. I hold to justification from eternity, but I also agree with the positions of justification at the cross and justification at the point of God-given faith. I think all three positions have merit when viewed from a "30,000 foot level", which is how I try to read the Bible as I try to understand the Bible as a whole, so as not to get make a hobby horse out of one item and then try to reverse engineer the rest of the Bible to fit it.

Ken you have made an error in your understanding of that passage. Paul is telling us that there are not two or more gospels. There is only one true gospel.

Note Paul's words;
Gal 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,
Gal 1:7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.
Gal 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

Some may preach what they call the gospel but if it is not the truth of God's word then it is not the gospel but error.

Correct. The others are false "gospels". But Paul refers to false "gospels" with the word "gospel". So I don't see your point of criticism of my post #103 above.

Logically if it is false then it is not good news is it and thus not the gospel. That is the point I was making Ken. And is the same point that Paul was making.
