A schoolmaster, (the Greek text gives, a child conductor), was one who held the child in restraint as they conducted the child from home to the school, making sure that there was no mischief along the way, and that the child arrived at the school. Then the child was given over to the care of the teacher, and the duty of the child conductor was ended. The child conductor did not stand in the back of the class room and continue to exercise control and authority over the child, for now the Teacher was in control, and there was to be no outside interference. So also, once we have been brought to Christ, and His anointing abides within us, we are to be led by the Spirit.

Do you believe that you are saved by following the law, or by following Christ?

The scriptures point to both the law (10 commandments) and the testimony (of Christ)

JOHN 3 [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The many will quote John 3[16-18]. But if you go on to read the next 3 verses in John (19-21) you will see that unbelievers have NO LIGHT IN THEM because they prefer darkness. Could it be there are some that say they believe and think they believe, but actually believe not due to their deeds? Their works?

ISAIAH 8 [20] TO THE LAW AND TO THE TESTIMONY: IF THEY SPEAK NOT ACCORDING TO THIS WORD, IT IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THEM.[21] And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.[22] And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

As you can see this scripture from Isaiah is not about ancient Israel. In fact it has not yet come to pass. It will come to pass on “The Day of the Lord”. The day Jesus returns to this earth. To the law (10 commandments) and the testimony (Jesus) If they speak not according to these words THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THEM. Just as the WORD says in John 3.

If you simply go by the scriptures (from the ole King James) and do not add or diminish from them, the scriptures point out that we must be attempting to keep the 10 commandments (including Gods sabbath day) in order to be saved to the kingdom. Does anyone see things differently?

9 of the 10 are restated in the NT as NT "Law." That nether means nor implies that gentile Christians are bound to the Mosaic Covenant. We follow the 9 because the they are invoked in the NT.

Why do you say 9 of the 10?

LUKE 4 [14] And JESUS returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.[15] And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.[16] And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, AS HIS CUSTOM WAS, he WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE ON THE SABBATH DAY, and stood up for to read.

JESUS kept the sabbath

ACTS 17 [2] AND PAUL, AS HIS MANNER WAS, went in unto them, and three SABBATH DAYS reasoned with them out of the scriptures,[3] Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

PAUL kept the sabbath

ACTS 13 [42] And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, THE GENTILES besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.[43] Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.[44] And THE NEXT SABBATH DAY CAME ALMOST THE WHOLE CITY TOGETHER TO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD.

GENTILES come together on the sabbath to hear the WORD.

Jesus Christ, not the law. NOT The 10 Commandments of God but the WORD OF GOD the living Christ. The schoolmaster of the Law no longer brings us to Christ. Christ has come. He brings us to the Father; not the Law that kills, but The “Law that is able to give life”. Jesus Christ. Many will try to convince you that the Bible does not say this but simply read and believe.

The glory of the former dispensation has become as "NO GLORY" so that Christ may be “the all in all fulfilling FULLNESS OF GOD”.

For example, Who still would keep the Seventh Day Sabbath because the Law says so? Only the legalists. And for whom "does the Sabbath remain valid for to keep", but for them "Jesus had given rest"?

Thats another thing i dont quite understand. You imply that im an legalist because i try to obey the voice of God and try to keep His commandments. What are you gonna say when you stand before Christ? Save me Lord, im an illegalist, i did nothing you commanded me to do.

Hi Gerhard,
Did you really find a bible that says those things? Which one is it? Did it really change the Word such much or are you adding and diminishing words also. I find it rather on the flat dog that this is being done and for the reason its being done. The Word of God is perfect!

Where in scripture do you find Jesus giving people a "rest" in the now? Not saying its not there...but i cant find it

Returning and rest...Shall ye be saved.....and ye would not

Since that is only half the story that you quoted it is called a half truth. A half truth is a lie. The way that you have quoted this is putting Christ in the light of a liar, for he didn't teach this at all. Shame.
