The angel of the LORD is God

Since the angel of the LORD is the Lord Jesus and Jesus is God it follows that the angel of the LORD is God.

1. The Hebrew word for angel means "messenger" (mal'ak). It could refer to supernal beings (Psalm 148:2) or to people (Joshua 7:22).

2. This messenger states, "I am the God of Bethel" (Genesis 31:13).

3. No one has seen the Father (John 6:46).

4. The angel of the LORD has a distinct personality from YHWH (2 Samuel 24:16; cf. 1 Chronicles 21).

5. The angel of the LORD is addressed in prayer (Genesis 48:16).
- Jacob credited the Angel for redeeming him from all evil.
- Jacob asked the Angel to bless Joseph's children.
- Jacob asked the Angel to cause his descendants to grow into a multitude.

Judges chapter 6 was what convinced me when I read it. Then I did a bible study on this and alot of my friends really liked it. Jesus said "before Abraham was born I AM" John 8:58. If you go back to where he was referring to"the burning bush" it said the Angel of the Lord appeared in the burning bush! :jesus:

I will start another thread on Judges 6 either today or tomorrow (Lord willing) that I have used when debating Unitarians. God bless and bless God.
