Russell, it has been quite a while since I studied the structure of the SBC (I am not SBC), but I would say that technically individuals are not members of the Convention, but rather that it is made up of supporting organizations such as churches, associations, societies, etc. Someone else may be able to speak more authoritatively on this. And, correct me if I am wrong, the structure of both Alliance of Baptists and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is so that individuals may directly be members. If you are a member of a church that supports the SBC, perhaps you are not recovering!
