The Best book(s) on the Gospel

Still beating that dead beast I see! There is only one Gospel and that is the truth!

But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; Galatians 2:7
Therein lies the problem... "mixed messages"

You really should consider that it is only mixed in your mind! Coming to that conclusion would helpful to you! You could begin with Peter preaching to the Gentile Cornelius and end with the following Scripture:

Act 15:7. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

Now what Gospel did Peter preach to the Gentiles?

Next you might consider Paul preaching to the Jews every where he went and what Gospel he preached. In particular consider the Jews in Rome and their reception of the Gospel as the Book of Acts ends with the following Scripture:

Acts 28:23-31
23. And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
24. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
25. And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26. Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27. For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29. And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
30. And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31. Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

In light of just these Scripture can't you see the error of your hyper-dispensationalism?

As long as the Temple remained, the Gospel of the Kingdom was preached to the Jews.
John presents the pure simple Gospel of Grace as his gospel was written 20 years after the destruction of the Temple.
As well, John was a prisoner among many gentiles on the Isle of Patmos, where he preached the Gospel of Grace through Faith to them.

But not to worry, the Gospel of the Kingdom will once again be preached by Jews during the Tribulation.
And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Jesus' return). Matt 24:14

I think you should do a total Scripture study of the temple starting in the Garden, to Mt. Sinaii, the tabernacle, Solomon's temple, God leaving the temple in Ezekiel, 2nd temple, Jesus as the new temple, the church as the temple, and New Jerusalem being a garden/city/temple yet not having a temple.

There was Solomon's Temple (First Temple).
There was Nehemiah's Temple (Second Temple, embellished by Herod, destroyed in 70AD).

Prophetic and yet future Temple:
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2 Thes 2:3-4

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place [inside the Temple],
(whoso readeth, let him understand:) Matt 24:15
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,)
then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Mark 13:14

Prophetic and yet future Great Tribulation:
For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. Mark 13:19
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matt 24:21

So you know about 2 temples... but scripture pictures many more before and after Solomon's. You would do well to study them. The temple goes through a metamorphosis (as should your theology I fear).

The Temple is of no concern to the Body of Christ.
The Temple is for Judiasm. According to Judiasm, there have been two Temples.
The Temples described in Ezekiel and Revelation have never existed.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
that blindness in part is happened to [the nation of] Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in
[completion of Body of Christ].
Romans 11:25

BTW, all implements of the Temple have been created and are in storage, all the priests needed have been trained, and I suspect even the blocks of the Temple have been made...

I know this to be true, but apparently they can't do math. If you count the Tabernacle as a Temple, there have been four already, with two more to be built, though the last will be built by God. After the Tabernacle, there was Solomon's Temple, then Zerubbabel's Temple, then Herod's Temple, extant at the time of Christ.[/QUOTE]

What is it? John Stott, Piper, MacArthur, RC Sproul, Paul Washer, and many others have written books. Which one is the best or which ones are the best? Presently I am reading through God is the Gospel by Piper and the Gospel Call and True Conversion by Washer and finding the Washer book far superior. Although I believe this Washer book is more on Conversion/regeneration, I am thinking about getting his first book which is on the Gospel. So what say you?

hiow about 2 volume set by Craig Blomberg, Jesus and the Gospels, and the Historical reliability of the Gospels?

Are you quite serious? The use of so many writers, not just Paul, with the church as the new temple of God... have you read the NT???

Have you not read where Jesus says that something better than the temple & Solomon is here? Have you not read John 2 about the temple he was referring to was his body???

The temple in Rev, assuming you mean 14, is much debated so I don't want to touch it right now. But what is said in Rev 21-22 is very interesting. The temple/garden/city says there is no temple b/c God and Jesus are there!!!

Ezekiel's temple is Jesus... and the church... and new creation.

Something you have to contend w/ is Haggai's temple theology which says the new temple is better than Solomon's. That clearly refers to this metamorphasis of Jesus, the church, and new creation since the 2nd temple is not that!
