The best smart watch

You don't want to hear from me. Let's see if you're still using your Apple smartwatch in 3 months. I would never pay $475 for a watch, any watch.

Sent from my Motorola Droid Turbo.

Yes I will use it 3 months from now. I need to lose weight and get my cholesterol under control ( a reason I am quitting my second job) so I will be using the watch to help me do workouts to get me back in shape. A useful tool especially when considering the doctor wants me to workout!

When you owe people money, it is usually bad form to buy yourself toys.

I don't have a smart watch. I can't afford it even though I don't owe people money. I like it that way - not owing anyone.

I pay off my 3 credit cards every month that I use them and will pay off this purchase in a month.

Toys? If I died of a heart attack but could prevent it by buying a gymn membership and a watch that could track my workout and calories burned this purchase would be a lifesaver! Well I need to start and why I had to quit my second job for health reasons.

I guess it depends on your yearly salary. So what's expensive?

'Expensive' is relative; but if one is treading water because of debt, everything ought to be considered to be so. Especially luxuries.

Salary has nothing to do with it if one owes more than he can afford to pay without incurring more debt.

You are a marketer's dream come true if you think that you need a special watch to get healthy.

People have been able to exercise without a smart watch for years. If you won't exercise without the watch, chance are good that you won't exercise with it once the novelty wears off. Proof of this is all the people that buy gym membership in Jan and by Feb have stopped going.
Your excuse for spending money you don't have doesn't hold any water.

The best smart watch is the one you use--for more than just a watch. If that's all you're using it for, you wasted your money. And fitness stuff is only one piece of what they're capable of. Too many people who got Fitbits, Garmins, Pebbles, etc. that just sit in drawers now.

Yes non apple watches belong in drawers!

Is CC your only debt or are you still paying student loans? I also remember you saying that you wanted to but a house at some point. Well guess what if you don't buy $400 toys you can save that money toward a down payment.

I personally haven't had much use for exercise doo-dads. Or gym memberships. The sidewalk is free, and I can usually find a good patch of grass for some calisthenics. Of course I don't live in the Rockies...

But if you're worried about calories, it's your diet that should concern you. If you figure you burn 100 calories per mile ran, a bad diet can make it impossible to control weight with just exercise.

I've been doing the no- carb thing for a few weeks. The waistline has improved.:Biggrin

But back to watches, call me old fashioned, I like hands. And no batteries. Eco Drive for the win. ;)

The amount of free activities to do in Colorado is staggering. There is a reason why it's one of the fitter states because it's so easy to be outside doing things. A nice hike in the mountains is perfect, get the blood pumping and enjoy a beautiful view.

Exercise is not everything as diet is also 50% of the equation. But no question about it I need to do something!

Re Eco Drive. Mrs. Rolf gave me one as a gift in 2009. Still runs well and never had an issue. Well-made watch.

Yeah the mountains is an hour from me! I used to walk the trails that was until I heard a mountain lion was spotted in my area. No thanks I am paying for a gymn membership! You go ahead and walk the trails and meet the mountain lion.
